OREO® and Fudge Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
This is super easy to make and a great tasting dessert. It also looks nice when served. I add sprinkles on top of the cool whip based on the occasion. For the 4th of July, I added red, white and blue sprinkles.

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
I wish I could rate this with 10 STARS! This is THE BEST chicken salad ever. I served it on little Pepperidge Farm rolls and my guests loved them. I probably added more curry than the recipe because I like the flavor so test it as you are mixing it and put in your desired amount. If you are in a hurry, buy a cooked chicken from the grocery store and shred it for a fast/easy way to make this.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
Easy recipe and kids love it! I made this for a friend who had just gotten out of the hospital. She freezed it and cooked it later and her kids said it was amazing. Be creative with the recipe - you can't mess it up. I used whole wheat spiral pasta and cream of mushroom soup in mine. I also stir in some frozen peas because I like the color and the flavor. Enjoy!

Fresh Strawberry Pie I

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
Delicious but you MUST DOUBLE THE SAUCE! This is a fabulous recipe but the sauce is only enough for one pie so make sure you double it. Here are a few tips for the recipe. 1. Make sure that you follow the instructions for baking the pie crust and let it cool completely. 2. I like to cut my strawberrys into halfs and quarters so that the pie shell is stuffed with strawberrys. Also make sure that all of the strawberrys on top are face up for a nice presentation. 3. This is the most important - you must let the sauce cool completely before pouring on the pie - otherwise you cook the strawberrys. So, I try to stir out the steam and then I put the pan in the fridge and stir every 5-10 minutes until it is almost starting to gel. Then I put it on the pie. Also, you need to allow the pie to be in the fridge AT LEAST 5 hours before serving so the sauce can gel. Serve with cool whip and enjoy!

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
This was an all around great potatoe salad recipe. It was my first time making it but it tasted delicious. One thing to do is to leave yourself plenty of time to make this or make it the day before. I misjudged how long it would take the potatoes and eggs to cool.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
I thought this was a very unique dessert idea. I thought the fruit salsa was too sweet so I would reduce the jam and sugar. The chips were amazing but one tip is do not try this with whole wheat tortillas. I did one batch with the whole wheat to see how they taste but they were no good. So, splurge and eat the regular white ones. I also highly recommend to serve the fruit over vanilla ice cream and stick a few chips out of the top of the ice cream. It makes for a nice presentation and a great mix of flavors.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
This is by far one of the best recipes I have ever made from AllRecipes. The flavoring was phenomenal. We eat these over a bed of angel hair pasta with some additional pasta sauce. I also add more cayenne pepper to give it more of a kick. You cannot go wrong with these! A+++++

Baked Beans III

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
The beans with the brown sugar was good but the bacon was so slimy. I followed the directions but I think maybe I should've cooked the bacon longer. Also, I baked the beans based on the recommended time but the middle was still not hot.

Salmon Tango

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
This recipe is delicious. Not only did I put it on the salmon, I also put it on the vegtable skewers we grilled. After the grilling, we also drizzled it over the salmon and veggies. I recommend adding some red pepper flakes to give it a bit of a kick. I also added some fresh basil and rosemary.

Glazed Salmon Fillet

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
I really enjoyed this. It gives a new taste to salmon. I put double the ginger called for. I put the recommended amount of red pepper flakes and it was good but if you like a kick, double the red pepper flakes. I didn't have sesame oil and subsituted olive oil instead. This would be great with some sort of asian noodles. Enjoy!

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
I'm not a vegetarian but I love this chili. You'll be surprised by the flavor - I recommend adding a bit of hotsauce. This is super easy to make, inexpensive and it freezes well. Add some sourcream, cheese, and tortilla chips to the top for a great meal.

Margaritas on the Rocks

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
I made this for a mexican themed dinner party and everyone raved about it. Even people who normally don't drink margaritas were getting 2nd and 3rd helpings. I like that they are not frozen because I was able to blend up a big batch, put in a pitcher, and then put it in the fridge. Whenever people needed refills, I just put some ice in their glass and poured (rather than having to rev up the blender and make a bunch of noise). I also did about 1 cup of tequila instead of 1.5 because many people don't like a strong tequila taste. This is a more expensive recipe than your standard store bought margarita mix but your guests will notice the difference. Cheers!

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
This is an easy to make, inexpensive, and colorful addition to any meal. I made this as a side to a mexican themed dinner party and everyone raved about it. I'll also use it as a side dish for BBQ's in the summer. This is a dish you can definitely make ahead of time and put in the fridge. It's also something to make when you have vegetarian guests. I put a lot of extra hot sauce in it to give it a kick.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I haven't baked since I was 5 years old and the only thing I remeber doing is licking the batter. I made these today and they are SUPER EASY - even for the non-baker. A few tips: (1) definitely unwrap the candy first and place it in the freezer because it's easier to push in. (2) use Pam Flour spray so the cookies don't stick - once they've cooled, use a spoon to pop them out. (3) put festive sprinkles on top depending on the holiday - use a spoon to sprinkle them off while still hot and then do a gentle press with the back of the spoon to make sure they melt in. (4) don't skimp on not getting the mini muffin trays - I thought about it but you really do need them. The 8 minute baking time was right on for me. Enjoy!
