Margarita Balls I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I thought this recipe was good, not amazing but good. I didn't have any problems with them being crumbly or dry. I used my blender to crush up the cookies very fine, and my pampered chef chopper to chop up my sliverd almonds. (I think getting these ingredients very fine is key) I added a shot of Grand Mariner (didn't have Contreau as suggested)and I used 6oz of white choc. (the whole box- hey why not the more chocolate the better right I dipped them in colored decorators sugar (green, pink & white) they were pretty & sparkley. Everyone loved them. I wraped them up in celophane and tied them w/ a pretty bow and put them in a fun martini glass (didnt ahve a margarita glass) and gave as gifts. they got rave reviews!!

Popcorn Candy Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Just made this! Adding red food coloring for holiday fun & I used holiday M&M's and they looked adorable. Pulled out my old air popper for the first time in ages, not sure how much poped popcorn I had, about 6-8 cups (1/2 cup unpopped)it was perfect. I had no problem with the balls keeping shape, I just used lots of butter on my hands and took from the top of the pan (cooler) shaped in to palm sized balls and set on wax paper to set up. Thanks! I think I will make a green batch to go with it for neighbor treats!!

This was so much fun! The whole family got invoved to make this recipe. I followed exactly, I did find it much easier to roll the dough out on wax paper and then use the paper to help roll it into the log (this way the dough didn't break & crack) The recipe did take a bit long to prepare with all the refriderating-so after the log was made we keept in thr fridge overnight to bake the next day, that worked really well, I can see if it wasn't well chilled how it could be very messy!
