Orange Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Made this with boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Doubled the recipe because the breasts were ginormous, I had to butterfly them. Used oj concentrate instead of juice, didn't want to spend $ on marmalade, (since I don't like it and would never use it after the recipe) like others did. Only had 2 garlic cloves, I definitely would like to have had more garlic. I will add fresh ginger next time and am looking forward to trying it as a grilling marinade. Family liked it probably more than I did. I'll make it again.

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Oh man! This is delicious! I needed to use up food instead of heading to the store on a Sunday afternoon, so I grabbed a chunk of leftover Easter ham from the feezer and started searching this site for a way to use it. (Easter ham recipe, btw, also from this site, look for maple glazed ham, really good!) Since I needed this to be a "main" meal I added xtra veggies; 2 c brocc, 1 c cauli, 1 c shredded carrot and only 1/3 of the 2 peppers since I'm not fond of those, no tomato since that's not a fave of my husband. I halved the salt and also the beef granules because all I had was soup base which tends to be stronger anyway. Used the relish instead of going out to buy pickles and taste tested it before tossing it in the frig....if it taste this good NOW, I can't WAIT to eat dinner! Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Apricot Danish Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
I thought it was good. I used French Vanilla cake mix and added xtra vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg like other readers. I think the flavor of cake made it too sweet. Next time I won't use Fr.Vanilla. I think that was the problem. I also used raspberry jam, I think preserves would be better but I couldn't find any that were seedless, hence the jam.

Ham and Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
Can't say that this is a favorite. Made this for a church potluck and by the amount brought back home, I'm not the only person not impressed. Definitely didn't need the brown sugar. I also cooked up the ham and onion together for a little extra flavor, that much smelled and tasted amazing! The whole combination was not appetizing in the least. I would have been better off just to make my ham and bean soup.

Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
This is wonderful! I, many others, increased the potatoes, chesse and added spices. I sauted celery and onion with the 3 tbsp butter and made sure the flour browned up a bit before adding the evap. milk. Increased the flour/butter just a little and also added some turkey broth that I had frozen from last turkeyday (a.k.a Thanksgiving). I popped it into the oven around 10 a.m. at 250 and covered it because we were heading to church. When we got back just after 12, I took off the foil, upped the temp to 350 and had a nice crispy, piping hot dinner in 15 min. I'm anxious to try it with my homemade gravy and stuffing at this years turkeyday! Yumm!

Baked Ham with Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
I'm reviewing this a little late. Made this for Easter dinner for my husbands side of the family. Rave reviews from everyone! I followed travelerdude's suggestion and used bourbon. Wow!! It just really added another layer of flavor. I think this has become the newest tradition in our family. Definitely making this again!

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
I thought this was very good. My 18 year old loved it, husband thought it was ok. I worked with what I had on hand. Used parmesan and asiago. Left out the tomatoes because I didn't have any, didn't have white pepper so I used a pepper blend instead. I would leave out the asiago next time. That's all that I could figure that left a slightly sour after taste. I'll make this again (with the right ingredients!)and see if the odd taste goes away.
