Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
I adjusted the recipe to 10 servings, and didn't tweak a thing. They are easy to shape, chewy, and waay too sweet! I say 1/4 cup of powder sugar would've been just fine (for 10 popcorn balls).

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2013
Delicious beef stew! Better than the crock pot version I make. I followed the first step as written. I heated olive oil and browned up the meat, I set the meat aside and chopped a whole onion and sautéed with 2 tbs of unsalted butter, to that I added about 1 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes. I added 5 chopped carrots and 3 chopped celery to the pot and sautéed for 1 min. Then I added 2 1/2 cups water and 2 tbs beef bouillon, I seasoned with a few sprinkles of thyme and 2 bay leafs and a few splashes of worchestire sauce, I added the beef and covered for 1 hour, then I added 2 chopped potatoes and finished cooking for 40 min. I let the beef stew rest for 30 min. It was so good it barely needed salt! I served it with brown rice. YUM!

Thin Mint Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
I give it a 3 stars because the cookie dough was really sticky almost like a thick frosting. I wrapped the dough in parchment paper and refrigerated for 2 hours. I tried slicing but it didn't work, the dough was all over the counters it was a mess! So I had to roll them into little balls with my hands and press with a cookie cutter directly on the cookie sheet and it worked! I also omitted 1/4 cup of flour and replaced it with 1/4 of cornstarch to make the cookies crunchy like a wafer. I also added more peppermint extract to the dough and 1/2 tsp to the chocolate coating.

Good Old Meat Pie

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
First time making meat pie and it was good. I didn't have any beef broth on hand, so I used chicken boullion with a little bit of soy sauce and worcestershire sauce as a substitute, it had a very similar taste/color to beef broth.

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
Wonderful flavor! I omitted the last 5 ingredients because i didn't have them on hand, i just made a butter and flour roux and added water and a splash of milk. Next time i will add the coconut milk instead of the milk. I also increased the ginger, i grated 1 tsp instead of 1/2tsp. I am keeping this recipe and making this at least once a month. I served it with lentils and naan bread from this site.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
Wow this was bland, it needs something else. I followed directions step by step, it was creamy like people said but, we didn't care for this dish :( I usually like everything, I'm not a picky eater but the thought of under cooked eggs is unappealing to me.

Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
This dish was delicious and comforting, super easy to make. I did add granulated garlic to the ground beef for extra flavor. I used homemade condensed cream of chicken soup (super easy and fast), and added corn kernels, cheddar cheese and topped the casserole with tons of tater tots. My family loved it.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
Best chili ever! I made my own salsa because i didn't have any store bought salsa in my pantry. I also made my own chili mix from this website. It takes a little bit longer but it was well worth it. Tomato salsa recipe- 1 canned tomatos diced, 1/2 onion diced, 1/3c green bell pepper diced, 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced, 2 cloves garlic minced, 1/4 fresh cilantro chopped, salt to taste. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
The taste was good except the texture was more like naan bread. It made 16 tortillas not 24. As much as I tried rolling them thin they would shrink on the way to the comal.

This dish is fantastic! even though I used dried basil instead of fresh, and chicken boullion instead of broth. I didn't measure the cheese or basil, I just eyeballed it.
