Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
I love to make pizza at home and usually turn to this recipe. I often find myself adding more flour to get the right consistency. I measure by weight, so perhaps this is why. Overall a very good reliable recipe.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
These are easy and tasty. I make them more often than I would if they took longer. I often find myself adding more flour, but other than that I keep everything the same.

Good base recipe. I keep this in my recipe box to remind to make them!

Spiced Applesauce Bread

Fantastic recipe. It stays moist for a few days when covered, and is nice for a quick breakfast.

Ultimate Maple Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Unfortunately I couldn't find maple sugar, but I liked the idea of maple snicker doodles and decided to try and make them work. I instead cooked down the maple syrup to concentrate the flavor, and substituted a mix of white and brown sugar. They were fantastic.

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
This is such a useful recipe. Made it the first time as is and was great. It's easy to change ingredients in the filling for variety. I make these on the weekend, and they're easy to reheat in the oven during the week for a quick hot breakfast. I have used used mushrooms, dried tomato, ham, gouda, cheddar, and feta different times with success.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
These pretzels are amazing. They're a little more work than going to the mall, but definitely worth it. I served them with a home made cheese sauce, apple sauce and mustard for dipping.

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
This recipe is so much better than others I've tried. Sometimes I saute it with a little ground sausage or chopped bacon and onions for a main dish, or cinnamon and sugar for a dessert. There is a lot of room to get creative.

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
I'm not sure if I made this improperly, or if the recipe is just off, but I wasn't a big fan. My husband didn't care for it either. It just kind of tasted like rice with milk and sugar, and we tossed most of the batch.

Really Basic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
These were ok since I was low on baking ingredients, but I like other peanut butter cookies more. The peanut butter oatmeal cookies (similar to do-si-do's) on this site are much better and just as quick and easy.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
Nutritious and tasty snack, and a great alternative to chips. I like to use different seasonings for variety. Like other reviewers said, watch them closely, because too much time in the oven will leave you with kale crumbs.

Applesauce Muffin Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
This is such a great recipe. I just made the muffins rather than putting it together as a gift, but will do so now to share with family and friends. The applesauce gives them a nice flavor and texture.

Oatmeal Maple Syrup Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
These muffins are fantastic. Great texture and not too sweet. The outside gets a bit of a crust, and the inside stays soft. The only thing I did differently was use 2% milk instead of half and half because it was all I had available. Turned out great.

Potato Soup with Fish and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
This is a great recipe for a filling, cold weather soup. I made a few changes the second time I made this out of necessity. I exchanged the half and half for 2% milk, and the muenster cheese for gouda because it is all I had on hand. Less fat and still creamy. Thanks for the recipe!

Cheddar Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
This dish is simple to make and delicious. My Husband requests it all the time, and I'm happy to make it for him. It goes great with steamed vegetables or mashed potatoes. The only thing I do differently is fillet, or pound the chicken until it is thin for more surface area and quicker cooking time. Great recipe. Thanks for posting.
