About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was a teenager with my family, and learned a lot of what I know from my Mom and Mema. I enjoy making our favorites, but also like exploring different ingredients and cuisines.
My favorite things to cook
I really like to cook anything new. Exploration with food is one of my favorite hobbies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up cooking hearty meals that range from German to Italian classics. One of my favorite things to make is pie. I spent time with my Mema learning how to make the prefect pie crust, and it's a great experience whenever I have the time.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph is always in progress, and it is getting my husband to try new things. I think it's a great success to make dishes that are new to him, and completely enjoyable.
My cooking tragedies
Since I moved to Europe, I do not have a traditional oven. It is a microwave, oven, broiler, hybrid. After a scorched batch of oatmeal cookies, and a few more follies, I might be getting the hang of it!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust
I love to make pizza at home and usually turn to this recipe. I often find myself adding more flour to get the right consistency. I measure by weight, so perhaps this is why. Overall a very good reliable recipe.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls
These are easy and tasty. I make them more often than I would if they took longer. I often find myself adding more flour, but other than that I keep everything the same.

Spiced Applesauce Bread
Fantastic recipe. It stays moist for a few days when covered, and is nice for a quick breakfast.
