Oriental Shrimp Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Great soup! My entire family loved it. I added two whisked eggs at the very end. I have also made the soup with rice instead of noodles. The family loved it both ways. Thanks for sharing. :)

Zesty Rice 'N' Bean Casserole

Excellent dish that was a true crowd pleaser, even with the kids. I added a can of corn and a can of peas to sneak some extra veggies in. I will be making this one again for sure.

Easy and delicious! Even my kids would eat it like this and they are not bok Choy fans.

Pumpkin-Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
Good flavor and easy to make. They are more cake like than cookie. I made a couple of changes. Like many others, I used half regular flour and half whole wheat flour. I increased pumpkin to two cups pumpkin and added nutmeg and ginger.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
I had two cases of bananas that were over ripe, so what did I do? I made 10 batches of banana bread. I tried several recipes but in the end, this was my favorite. It was very moist! Be careful not to add to much banana. I think my favorite batch had 2 cups bananas. I also added cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate chips and peanut butter chips. I made one batch like that for bread and another for muffins. The muffins were gone within hours (12 per batch). This is a VERY easy recipe with only a few ingredients and lots of flavor.

Almond-Crusted Tilapia

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Great flavor, but the breading stuck to the pan. I made a batch of breading to use next week while I was at it so I'll see if there's a better way to cook it so that the toppings stay on. Excellent flavor and easy to make. My family devoured it.

Roast Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
Delicious! This was a hit with the entire family. I doubled the sauce and made gravy out of it like many others on this site. Very juicy and flavorful. It made the entire house smell great and everyone was anxious to try it. It did require planning ahead, but it was worth it. Next time I will try the crock pot ideaa someone posted to make it even easier.

Sweet Potato Casserole VI

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Easy and delicious! I made it for Thanksgiving trial run with friends and it was a HUGE hit. I took the advise of others and baked the potatoes (4 large sweet potatoes baked for an hour). Then I squeezed them out of the skins and mixed the other stuff in. I added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and nutmeg and 1/4 tsp ginger and omitted the salt. I did not double the topping as others have suggested. I can see how people would like that because the topping delicious. However, by not doubling it, it was a pleasant surprise when you got a bite of the topping without being overly sweet. I will make again for sure!

Vegetarian Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
SUPER YUMMY!! I served it at dry run Thanksgiving dinner with friends and everyone LOVED it, meat eater or not. I added mushrooms when I sauted the onion and garlic. I did have to cook much longer as noted by another reader. I could not find the nutritional yeast so I made it without. I made 4x the recipe and substituted half of the oil for butter. Savory, flavorful and a huge hit!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
I love the fact that you can put it together and forget about it, especially around the holidays! I was making it with my son and he poured in the entire 4 1/2 broth which was way too much liquid. We added 3 cups more bread cubes and it was perfect. I did not do the 45min on high setting, I just cooked it for 4 hrs on low and it was great. This says it serves 16 but we served it with 11 people and it was gone!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
I made it according to directions but it came out a little thick and too tart. If I try making it again I think I will add some spices and additional OJ or water. Very easy to make though!

Ribbon Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
this dessert looked very cool and was easy (though time consuming) but it had a minty flavor and I'm not sure where that came from. It also had kind of a chalky texture. I did this for a 4th of July gathering so I used blue raspberry and cherry flavored Jello. I may try this again because it looked SO cool.

Crispy Barbequed Tofu Slices

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
With a newly vegetarian daughter, I am trying to find meals we can all eat. This is one for sure! My carnivorous son went back for seconds. I baked the tofu for 15 minutes then dipped and fried the pieces and then broiled them again with the extra bbq sauce brushed on. They came out crunchy and delicious. I will be making this again and often.

Thai-Style Grapefruit and Prawn

I made this hot and it was really easy to make. I liked it but the rest of the family was not crazy about it and just picked out the shrimp. It was much better cold the next day. I like the mix of spicy and tart.
