Irish Potato Candy

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
This is just the way I think Irish Potatoes should be! I did need to use more cinnamon, but other than that, these are perfect!

Chinese Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I made this following the recipe and it was really bland compared to other similar salads. I made it a day ahead to let the flavors meld a little bit, but wound up adding extra vinegar and some soy sauce to give it flavor.

Garlicky Baked Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
Followed the recipe as written except I added a dash of cayenne. This was delicious! It did stick to the pan, so I might try spraying the pan next time. Other than that, we all loved it!

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
These are delicious! I made a slight change by adding some lemon zest, but other than that followed the recipe as written. They have a great shortbread crust and a wondeful tang to the filling. Next time I make them, I would like to try doubling the lemon filling.

Quick and Easy Home Fries

This is a very good basic recipe. It is a good starting point. Some additional seasoning would make it even better!

This recipe was just right! I followed the recipe, using 1/3 less fat cream cheese. I let the bars sit overnight. They were delicious!

Vanilla Ice Cream V

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
Very good recipe. I dissolved the sugar in about 1/4 of the half and half. The ice cream was a bit grainy, but that is how I expect homemade ice cream to be.

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
This is really great. The first time I doubled it and it had a bit of an after taste. The next time, I used 10 tea bags and it was great!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Wonderful recipe! I substituted sour cream for the mayo since I was serving to someone with an egg allergy. Also, followed advice and mixed shredded parmesan with panko breadcrumbs for topping. Served on toasted baguette. Awesome!

Italian Cream Cheese and Ricotta Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
Very good cheesecake. I did substitute lower fat ingredients (1 block of 1/3 less fat cream cheese and low fat sour cream - other than that, regular ingredients). It was very quick to make since there is no crust. Just the right texture and wonderful flavor.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
Perfect recipe! I have tried this salad 2 times previous, but thanks to this recipe and tips from other reviewers, this is the first time it came out right! Now, I don't have to rely on my grandmother to make it for me!

Baked French Fries II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Good, basic recipe. I heavily sprayed my sheet with olive oil and turned the fries every 5 minutes or so and had no problems with sticking. I seasoned with Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and parmesan. We dipped in BBQ.

Whole-Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
This recipe was perfect. My husband made them and used butter instead of margarine (we don't typically have margarine around the house). We used 3 cups of whole wheat pastry flour and no white flour. The cookies tasted just like regular chocolate chip cookies - delicious!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
Fabulous! Perfect combination of sweet and tangy. I made the sauce and placed it over chicken tenderloins until ready to bake. I baked the chicken for about 30 minutes and flipped/basted it once. Perfect!
