Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
YUM! I made just a half batch of this recipe, used nly 1 1/2 cups of sugar and it was amazing! I had some last night when it cooled and just a teeny bit on toast this morning. Better than store bought and oh so early. I am going to a friends for dinner this weekend and bringing a jar as a thankyou , just because it was so easy to make I have to share the treat! Thanks for posting!

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
YUM These turned out great! I did only teeny changes that fit our house. I used a teaspoon sea salt, because thats what we like with our chocolate and I baked at 325 degrees for 13 or so minutes watching carefully, my oven is having its personal issues, hot and cold flashes ...like me...aging gracefully! But great cookies, it is already taped in my "Best Recipe" cookbook I will be giving to my daughters when they grow up ! THANKS !

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Yum, easy and fast. I did however make a few modifications due to lack of items. I used 1\2 c brown sugar-packed and 1/2 cup granulated brown sugar to amke the full cup of brown sugar, I did add 1 cup of white sugar as directed too. I used bread flour in place of all purpose flour. This idea from Alton Browns chewy choc. chip cookies. I made them in small teaspoon fulls and when just lightly browned I took out of the oven and sprinkled lightly with white sugar. YUM! I did not add the butterscotch chips, made just plain oatmeal cookies, no additions. WILL MAKE AGAIN and AGAIN!

Bell Peppers and Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
YUM! I made this as a side dish to our bbq rib dinner last night. A few changes were that only I used 3 types of peppers, colors, red, yellow and orange, for color, and we had extra in the refrig. The amount was more like 2 and a half cups peppers, and also used a red onion for additional color. It was easy to prepare and rave reviews by guests! A keeper formy family folder of yummy side dishes! Heck I bet if you add some left over italian sausage it would make a great dinner or lunch the next day.

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Loved this! I made without the orange, my daughter did not want the orange on this day. I changed it a bit by adding additional vanilla and iced it with both chocolate and white icing. In fact it was so good I was offered to make for a local resturant when I gave it to the owner/a friend. Thanks for the recipe! I will continue to use as a base and add and change to make more diversity.

Jiffy Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
YUMMMMM! I made a few small changes. Placed them in a ceramic quiche dish, for lack of other pan avail, I had made in the Muffin Pan previously, but did not like the outcome, Pan had to soak for two days to get sticky sugar cinnamon mixture off bottom of cups. But these are GREAT when baked in a big round baking dish, low sided, such as the quiche or a 9" cake pan. I drizzled melted butter on the bottom of pan, placed cut rolls then lightly pressed them down, added the brown sugar minture on top as instructed, the when out of oven brushed melted butter on each one if they looked dry, just a tad for added moistness. I did not ice them, my kids do not like icing, but I kept a bowl on the side for the others eating these yummy rolls so they could ice to their hearts content. I will definatly make again and again!

Nutmeg Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
YUM! If you like nutmeg this is the cake for you! I love gingerbread, but this is a close second. I did not use the frosting recipe here I did not have cream in the house. But used a home made buttercream frosting with just a tablespoon of cocoa. I also made it into a 9x13 pan so I can take to work for a co-worker treat. I also substituted Kir milk for the buttermilk. It worked fine. My daughter is lactose intollerant and kir is a help with rationing lactose in her diet. I am she will like this. I tried a sample before she came home from school.

Grilled Sweet Potatoes with Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
YUM! I love to camp and always looking for good additions to meals or to have as a dessert. I mixed in a ziplock bag, vs needing to bring along another bowl while we camp. Limited space in a tent. I will make these at home as well as camping OFTEN!

I loved this recipe.I recently went on a strict diet and I miss sweets. This makes me feel like I am not cheating! I replaced 1 cup of white flour with wheat flour, used Splenda instead of sugar and used 1\2 cup applesauce. I will slice it up and freeze it so I can have it for breakfast for a morning pick me up! Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
Yum! I made the slices more like large french fries, turning once while cooking so they browned on more then one side. Used Olive oil Cooking spray on the cookie sheet and then once on the sweet potatoes themselves, sprinkled a pinch of salt on them. I then baked for approx 20 minutes, depending on thickness of slices. When out of oven and still on tray sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I suppose splenda and sugar would be good if watching you calories. YUM! YUM! YUM! Great as a light lunch with a salad. I WILL make these again!

Brunch Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
Yum, I made these to use up some etra cream cheese. I made with mixed all together, deleting the step to add the creamcheese lemon mixture in the center. I have picky kids and know they would not like the texture in the center. We ate these plain and with strawberry preserves. ~YUMMY~

Oat Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
I think these are great. I tried to make just muffin tops, well...they spread a bit too much so turned out like cakelike cookies and very yummy. I used nonfat creamer instead of buttermilk and only soaked oats for half an hour due to busy day, added 1/3 cup craisins and 1/4 cup sunflower seeds and used a finely chopped apple instead of apple sauce...I will be eating these for a quick breakfast. Wrapping in wax paper and freezing so to take out one a day. A great way to get healthy food and not too high in fat, and a sweet craving satisfied early in the day. Thanks!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2005
All I can say is YUM! Great for the home made cinnamon tortilla chips, the mixture of fruits and sugars make a great topping for the chips not to mention great on Ice cream, and drained and put on cheesecake. I used frozen raspberries, making it a bit too liquid, but draining the mixture made it perfect! LOVE IT!! Rave reviews from friends added to my pleasure in making this twice in one weekend!
