About this Cook
I like to cook...sometimes. Sometimes I just want to see what the freezer isle has to offer, but usually I enjoy making something healthy and nutritious for my family.
My favorite things to cook
Italian Southern comfort foods Desserts Chinese (however I'm not great at it) Mexican I like to try new things too
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays. I like to bring something different - usually a dessert item.
My cooking triumphs
Alfredo Sauce
My cooking tragedies
I found a pork dish on some internet sight (this was before I found and even though it had some strange ingredients I never used before I gave it a whirl. End result, the dish made my house smell like mothballs and old cheese and it tasted the same too. Yes, we went out to eat that night.

Pesto Pasta with Green Beans and Potatoes
This was amazing, but of course there were some slight alterations I made. I followed the recipe to the T except when it came to a few little things. I followed the reviews of some of the others and used sour cream (me and yogurt never got along well) and mushrooms which I roasted. Seeing as how I have a carnivor for a husband I through in some chopped up ready to serve bacon and then topped it with goat cheese instead of parmasian cheese.

Pork Chops with Basil and Marsala
I've made this a few times. It's becoming part of our standard dinner menu. I find that if I cover the pork chops before baking and leave covered after adding the Marsala wine the chops come out so tender we don't even use a knife.
