today is 5 months from having my butt planted in sugar white sand and my ugly feet acting as shark bait in the gulf of mexico. can't wait. major up-grades beginning when the rain stops at our casa. I think I'm prepared. I hate remodeling. I REALLY hate remodeling. inside and out. even the bass boat is getting some new stuff. anyone needing a lay-over , arrive early and i'll blow your wig off before the round-up. we can do manifold stew on the way to lake and eat some fresh bass back at my house. sunday evenings..i'm stuck. calling the midwifes and mr. selfridge has come to be " must-watch tv." what is up with this guilty pleasure? why do americans get so entranced with a group of English folks that can't speak proper southern yehaws? I love my pelicangal! I can't wait to see my other conspirators at the redneck round-up. you should come too. facebook cindy lepp on facebook. she is the pro at rooms. from what we have seen, it's too early to book rooms for the fall rate yet, but we are watching! I've been very busy. easter was nice, I always feel we needed one more person at the table. anyone want to help whitewash a fence? I haven't planted the garden yet...so much going on outside. I did grow collards, broccoli, and swiss chard last winter....just excellent!! I had never had swiss chard. red and yellow chard could easily be used as a border...and the taste devine. folks please refer to prior blogs concerning the round-up. we would love some new folks to come. I am plenty tired this evening.  I hope everyone had a great easter!

hi Candice! I see you live in Albany, or. pelicangal lives in brookings, or. maybe you have met her? she has made 2 redneck round-ups. wife and I picked her up in panama city really early. I'm not sure where she intends to fly in, but wife and I can pick up all ya in Atlanta or p.c. don't worry about being here. we really have a blast. I haven't attended other round-ups, but from I'm told our's is different. cindy lepp and I have set the dates and the location...we are expecting very reasonable condo prices. these rooms have 2 bedrooms and can sleep plenty of folks. I hope you and your daughter can make it. folks coming from all over the country! oh, and we will teach you how to speak southern!

oops, 2 bathrooms not bedrooms ( some units do) but there is bunk beds, fold-out couches.., etc. check celadon @panama city beach. vrbo is a good site. rates haven't changed for the off-season ( when we will be there.) prices go down after july 4th, so we tend not to book until then.

stick the aloof critters in a manifold stew and bring your happy yehaw south. plenty of sand here if anything makes the trip and needs a sandbox.

About Me
i enjoy cooking. the wife considers it a chore. i hate yard work. she loves it. we mesh. i love bass fishing, reading, music, baseball, college football and my family.
My favorite things to cook
i love vegetables, soups, and italian cusine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
holidays are a big deal! christmas is my time to shine. i try to add a new recipe each year, but the family demands pretty much the same menu. kinda frustrating!
My cooking triumphs
i cared for my mother in law about 3 months when she had shattered her shoulder. i didn't work, so money was tight. we survived on only wife's paycheck during that time. ma-n-law had diet restrictions. it was difficult to make cheap, nutritious meals everyone would eat. we prospered as a family and learned alot about each other's strenghths and weaknesses.
My cooking tragedies
a stove top fire. i explained that one already. the grill falling over was another one...oops grill season is here! i love the tragedies...those are the ones that i'll always remember!
