I want my tombstone to read, " I waited in the wrong line." I NEVER blow thru a drive-thru. it doesn't matter which kind, could be the bank, the pharmacy, the recycling center, the fast food joint, and of course the grocery store. it doesn't matter! I get behind the car, cart, eighteen-wheeler that has a PROBLEM. this is a serious problem obviously because it takes 32 minutes to resolve. thank god I'm not armed. I love other folks, I just question their parental units lack of discrection in terms of procreation. hey! it was 83 here yesterday and now it 's 42. ya folks are being nailed. I hate this for ya...mid-west just getting pounded, the west getting wet but mud-slides ... be careful what you wish for. I want a toy. I'm still looking at a boxster. I MUST wash my boat. have you cleaned your TOY?  do you leave an opinion or an idea?  does your mother still have that silly picture on her refrigerator that you drew when you were an ankle-biter? do you still have your rug-rats pictures there too? what is your favorite color? why not GREEN?  do you bait your own hook? don't you miss rotary phones...the sound when the numbers wound back around...ok that might be too obscure.  I made fish tacos and crab fritters. just great recipes! I bought new underware. do you wash it first? why?our broccoli is going nuts, I must use a chainsaw. still have anything growing? collards are not doing squat..yet...but looking to get their groove on soon. I'm gonna quit smoking, I hate that cough. aren't your children the best folks on the planet. yeah, I know about grandkids. surprises are always interesting. flat screen TV's don't make a difference to me...lighter ( in terms of weight ,)  but  all I see is that we HAD to buy the new stuff. chicken and dumplings are pretty hard to beat! I lost my garden last year to a monster oak tree down. I'm so open and anticipating an opportunity to attempt to grow some heirloom maters! don't you find it amazing that folks still don't want to.....

Ok, I never want to try on new clothes, without washing them first, after reading this article. http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/gma-found-clothes-clean/t/story?id=9482373&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F

I'll give this a go! Have you cleaned your TOY? No I rarely clean my toy.... Do you leave an opinion or an idea? Often, I leave both..... Does your mother still have that silly picture on her refrigerator that you drew when you were an ankle-biter? No way....Do you still have your rug-rats pictures there too? Not there, but I still have them!..... What is your favorite color? Grey....Why not GREEN? Why not indeed, too ubiquitous....Do you bait your own hook? Of course.....Don't you miss rotary phones? No I do not miss rotary phones, not now. not ever....the sound when the numbers wound back around...ok that might be too obscure. No. I remember that noise and I'm glad it's gone. I love new tech and never get tired of exploring the next wonderful thing!..... I made fish tacos and crab fritters. just great recipes! I love fish tacos!.....I bought new underware. do you wash it first? In the first place it's underwear. I think underware would be like a condom. And no, I never wash it first...... Our broccoli is going nuts, I must use a chainsaw. still have anything growing? Are you nutys, theres 3 feet of snow outside!......I'm gonna quit smoking, I hate that cough. Good on ya, I quit 6 years ago......Aren't your children the best folks on the planet. Yes they are and we dont have any grandkids yet, wahhhhh ..... surprises are always interesting. I agree......flat screen TV's don't make a difference to me...lighter ( in terms of weight ,) but all I see is that we HAD to buy the new stuff. I agree, more lines of resolution, bahhh....Chicken and dumplings are pretty hard to beat! I like em but I disagree, easy to beat..... I lost my garden last year to a monster oak tree down. I'm so open and anticipating an opportunity to attempt to grow some heirloom maters! What the hell is an heirloom tomato anyhow?......Don't you find it amazing that folks still don't want to..... No I don't, it's completely natural.....

While you're waiting in the wrong line, I'm probably right behind you so turn around and say "HI!" :) My mom doesn't have my silly picture on the fridge, but she still has the story my kid wrote when she was 6 (she's 29 now) that says her Grandma & Grandma eat wheat bread. We had a giant oak tree fall down 2 years ago - didn't destroy my garden because I don't have one, but it did do some nasty damage to my house ($29,000.00 worth). It's all fixed up now and better than it was and the wood from the tree has made some pretty awesome fires this year. Love all your ramblings, they put a smile to my face and have helped start my day out right! Have a good day!

I love your random thoughts! Long lines give you time to remember what you forgot to get before getting in the long line. If I cleaned my toy, it would be frozen solid. Fish tacos & crab fritters would love to try. Rotary phones, nope don't miss them but I know what you mean about the sound. Love our flat screen, fun to watch 3D at home. Chicken & dumplings are comfort food. My garden is under 6" of snow. Tried collard greens for the first time at the DS's request, who knew they were so good. Nope, no drawings on the fridge they are all safely tucked away. I wash before wearing anything. Color green is #2. Thanks for the fun start to my day :)

Gary, reading your blog, you just let us step inside your brain. I enjoyed the thinks you have thunk! I just remember my mom saying, you aren't going to wear that underwear without washing it? Make sure you change your underwear, heaven forbid you get in an accident and your didn't change your underwear.

LOVE random thoughts blogs! So, here's my response to your ?'s above..... I want my Tombstone to read: "I Told You I Was Sick!" I too have a knack for getting in the wrong line. I've been known to line jump in an attempt to get in a shorter/quicker moving line only to discover the cash register needs new tape, the pump just ran out of gas or the person in front of me in the "new" line has special issues to deal with. I end up spending twice the amount of time waiting! Parenting styles vary drastically... As long as child grows up knowing it's loved and trained to respect his/her fellow human beings, then I say job well done. Crazy weather everywhere this year. It was 64 degrees here yesterday, but raining! Of course it was raining! It's Oregon for crying-out-loud! Nope! Don't miss rotary phones. I LOVE green! You should see my collection of kid's drawings! Not on the fridge, rather I slip them in sheet protectors and place in 3 ring binders. Yes, I DO bait my own hook! And, so do my THREE daughters. One is a Master Fisher-woman! She caught the largest Salmon by a woman in the state! I ALWAYS wash new clothes before wearing. My car is filthy...I so need to wash. Scared to death of chainsaws. I have LOTS of opinions, but I keep 99.9% of them to myself. It's better that way. I love collard greens! YES Gary, you MUST quit smoking! I need to make some chicken and dumplings because they ARE the ultimate comfort food! There are no better tomatoes than Heirlooms! I LOVE flat screens tv's because it gets the television off the floor and on the wall. Ah yeah! My kids and Grandkids and great grand-kids ARE the best! I find it amazing that folks still don't respect and love their fellow human beings in spite of their unique qualities and differences! I love everybody! Whew! I think I got it all. Great blog Gary.... Loved it!

I want my tombstone to read I WASN'T DONE YET. . .re: getting in the wrong line, is there a RIGHT line? I'm so tired of being COLD. The upside to that is I've read a five book series, because I can read in my WARM bed. I want a toy. Any suggestions? I leave a thought, sometimes an idea, occasionally an opinion, however, opinions are dangerous things. No pictures on the fridge. All safely tucked away. Favorite color, purple. My daughter's favorite color is green. Of course I bait my own hook, and take off and clean my own fishies. Rotary phones, nope. Party lines, different story. Mom's family all lived on the same road, same party line. They could call family long distance and everybody got to talk. The only plus side. Otherwise, everybody was all up in everybody elses business. Fish taco's and crab fritters, YUM!! Do you cook for the round up? Underwear, yes, I wash it and everything else. Who knows what it may have come in contact with before it found me? Nope, nothing left of my garden, buried in snow. But! I've ordered this years garden and hang on hope that it will eventually warm up. Yep, even though two of them live with me and I know their faults all too well, they are also very nice folks, my kids. No grandkids. About that TV. . .check out "The Story of Stuff". . .it will challenge your mind about what you think you HAVE to have.

You HAVE to wash new underwear - because you don't know who tried it on before you - or where they have been!!!! Yech!!!! I say all the time, "It's a good thing I don't believe in guns!" and, in reference to my ex, before and while he was becoming my ex, that, "it's a good thing I don't believe in guns, because I can't raise my children from prison!" [The end of my marriage and my divorce were not ""]. I was not smart enough to do this when my kids were little - but I love seeing kids' artwork framed and hung on the walls! I do have my little friends' handprints that we made a couple years ago hanging on my fridge (= My kids have good moments and bad moments - they're human, like their mama {= I love my flat screen - because it is non-glare! Otherwise . . . eh . . . (= I don't garden, but am thinking to buy my friend containers, because he desperately wants to start growing tomatoes again (= I love fish tacos and would love to make them . . . some day . . . fish is just below yeast on my phobia list /= PLEASE quit smoking!!!!! We love you and don't want to lose you to that monster!!! And, if not for us, then for Clare and Moose and Gator - and YOU!!!!!

OH! I don't have a hook to bait, nor do I have a favorite color - too many pretty colors to choose from (=

About Me
i enjoy cooking. the wife considers it a chore. i hate yard work. she loves it. we mesh. i love bass fishing, reading, music, baseball, college football and my family.
My favorite things to cook
i love vegetables, soups, and italian cusine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
holidays are a big deal! christmas is my time to shine. i try to add a new recipe each year, but the family demands pretty much the same menu. kinda frustrating!
My cooking triumphs
i cared for my mother in law about 3 months when she had shattered her shoulder. i didn't work, so money was tight. we survived on only wife's paycheck during that time. ma-n-law had diet restrictions. it was difficult to make cheap, nutritious meals everyone would eat. we prospered as a family and learned alot about each other's strenghths and weaknesses.
My cooking tragedies
a stove top fire. i explained that one already. the grill falling over was another one...oops grill season is here! i love the tragedies...those are the ones that i'll always remember!
