We hit the lottery in a most unsuual way. we live in a historic section of town in a very large comfortable home. i'm the sole blood relative of my brother. i cared for him for 21 years while he lived with us. he made out a will 20 years ago...i was left
everything to include the house...i don't know the size of the estate...but i'm sure it's large. my brother was a vietnam vet who was left mentally ill. a very poor existence. we made life as pleasant as we could. when he passed away we tore the house apart
trying to find the will...if not the estate and therefore the home would be sold to settle the estate and split with 2 stepbrothers and 2 stepsisters...no way we could afford to keep this home by ourselves. it's been @3 weeks since ronnie passed...i would
get up at 3 in the morning trying to remember where i put the will...next night my wife, claire, would do the same without waking me. we were in agony...both from ronnie passing and then not knowing where the will was. claire had a STROKE of genius...the girl
is super smart...and suggested it was in a bank safety deposit box. my daughter the othe brainer one said it's in a dark place... the bank was bought out 15 years ago by a larger bank then sold to some lawyers to use as a law office. claire tracked down the
right folks at ga. revenue to see if perhaps they had the will. THEY DID! life is great...so many things i can do with the money...but 1st i'm going to help those that helped us! i always thought attorneys had to record wills or with the va....please take
time to make out a will and make sure your loved ones know where it is...they will not accept copies in ga. i lost my brother and almost my sanity and home.. let this be a lesson...this was a hard one to swallow now is the time to prepare for the worse.
