An RVer came into the lodge last week and said that we just have to eat at Maguires. She said it was excellent. I am open to anything just so long as I get to see all of your smiling faces. Off to plan my trip. Hi ho Hi ho. lol

Hi gderr! Both Capt Anderson's and Angelo's are still open! I believe Angelo's closes for winter sometime in Oct. but I will look into it. There are some great local places for oysters like Hunt's Oyster Bar, Uncle Ernies- seafood and steak, and The Shrimp Boat that are "in town" (meaning over the bridge 10 min away.) You can look up the menus for all of these places. Schooners and the Boatyard are great as well for seafood- they're on Thomas Drive on the beach. We really don't have any good buffets around here :( but I will brainstorm for some unique options!

Now that the date has changed to the 24th we might be able to swing this. We will check into it and see if our budget will allow the trip there, still quite a way from us way down south of you. DH says it sounds like fun. We like the panhandle, haven't been there in about four years.

About Me
i enjoy cooking. the wife considers it a chore. i hate yard work. she loves it. we mesh. i love bass fishing, reading, music, baseball, college football and my family.
My favorite things to cook
i love vegetables, soups, and italian cusine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
holidays are a big deal! christmas is my time to shine. i try to add a new recipe each year, but the family demands pretty much the same menu. kinda frustrating!
My cooking triumphs
i cared for my mother in law about 3 months when she had shattered her shoulder. i didn't work, so money was tight. we survived on only wife's paycheck during that time. ma-n-law had diet restrictions. it was difficult to make cheap, nutritious meals everyone would eat. we prospered as a family and learned alot about each other's strenghths and weaknesses.
My cooking tragedies
a stove top fire. i explained that one already. the grill falling over was another one...oops grill season is here! i love the tragedies...those are the ones that i'll always remember!
