Sunday we'll have some people over. I'm not a great cook. While raising my kids i gave it low priority. Now that only one child is at home AND she is at school all day, i have no excuse to serve pre-prepared food or even buy take out more than once a week.
At 48 i'm still an aspiring artist,…
I didn't learn to cook growing up. I studied studied studied all the time. Currently i'm working on a Masters in Philosophy. So when i got married it was a shock to have to cook 3 meals a day! I still go through phases where i don't want to cook. My kids, however, have learned to cook at a young age and they all cook better than i do. So now i'm trying to catch up.
My favorite things to cook
omelettes, cookies, i used to bake bread.. i'd like to start again.
My favorite family cooking traditions
paella i learned from my mom. I have taught my kids how to make pancakes.
My cooking triumphs
chili con carne, my husband really likes tortilla de patatas.. he's irish. But i don't really ilke potatoes that much.
My cooking tragedies
my stir fry rarely turns out. i can't make brownies taste like brownies.
