Dijon Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
This was a good recipe. I didn't use salt. I used 1 tablespoon lemon garlic seasoning instead (salt in it), simmered it right in the sauce. I upped the amount of everything in the sauce so we would have extra. I poked the chicken a few times and let it sit in the sauce before dipping it in the bread crumbs. I ran the bread crumbs through a mini food processer so they were super fine. I used about 1 cup total. It was really good.

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
I have made this twice now. LOVE IT. I add 1 vanilla bean to the batter and i also add 1/4 cup half&half OR 1/4 cup heavy whip to 3/4 cup 2% milk - just a personal preference. Perfect as is! My husband, and two (picky) sons loved it. thanks!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Absolutely awesome! The only thing I altered was adding 3 tablespoons melted butter to my olive oil and about 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder to the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. I used about 7 cloves of garlic. I will definitely make this again.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Excellent split pea soup. I used 4 cups chicken broth, 4.5 cups water, and 3 bouillon cubes. I used fresh garlic rather than powder. I found it was a little watery (for my taste) at the 4th hour, so I added a bit of cornstarch (about 2 tablespoons in cold water), and it turned out great. Thanks a lot!

Popovers

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Turned out great. I followed the recipe exactly, but I used a muffin tin. I had better luck with these popovers than any other recipes I have attempted. Saved recipe and will be making again. thanks!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
Excellent! My family and I absolutely loved this. I followed the directions exactly, which is rare for me. I believe I just added a bit of dried thyme. Will definitely be making it again night, but I am doubling it next time!

Cherry Tomato Corn Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
Its very rare that I follow a recipe exactly; however, I did follow this one, and I am very glad I did. I used no-added salt canned sweet corn, fresh basil and tomatoes from my garden and a cucumber from the store. This recipe was excellent. It will be added to my favorites and made often. Thank you!

Homefried Potatoes with Garlic and Bacon

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
This is the best breakfast potato recipe I have made. I only altered a bit. I microwaved the potatoes for 6 minutes on high after I had sliced them. I used fresh garlic (3 small cloves) crushed. I cooked the onion and garlic in the grease for about 3 minutes before adding the potatoes. I added Tony's creole seasoning. I cooked for about 15 minutes more, then drained off all the excess grease. Then I cooked for 10 more minutes until about half of the potatoes were browned. Excellent. I would recommend using a very good sized, deep frying pan. If I had used a bigger (diameter) pan, more of the potatoes would have browned.

Pastry for Single-Crust Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
Excellent crust. I used this for a quiche I made this past weekend, and it was fabulous! I love crusts and this made the quiche in my opinion. I did have to add extra water, it was too dry to roll out without it. I kept the edges covered in foil until 15 minutes before it was completely done so the edges wouldn't burn, worked great. I don't know if I would use it in a sweet pie, personally, but definitely worked well with quiche.

Easy Never Forgotten Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
I have never made this style guacamole before, and I really liked it. I served it on chicken burritos and the taste was excellent. Next time, I would probably add some tomatoes. Great recipe.

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
Great recipe; however, I really thought they were too salty. I had even halved the amount of taco seasoning. Next time, I would go with low sodium taco seasoning (as recommended previously). I also made the "Easy Never Forgotten Guacamole" and put that in the burrito as well, along taco cheese, sour cream, salsa, and iceburg lettuce. It definitely needed all that to help cut down the saltiness a bit. Overall though, the taste was excellent. My husband loved the burrito and so did I. I will definitely make this again.
