Skewered Cantaloupe

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2014
Won't be making this again. The cantaloupe tasted mushy & the sauce did nothing to enhance the flavor. We ate the rest of the cantaloupe as usual with a little salt on it & it was fine, not mushy.

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
Have made this several times for us & neighbors. I do use 1 1/2 c sugar & may have to try 1 1/3 cups sugar or less. I've been doing 1/2 the brown sugar, cinnamon & pecan mixture & it is much better. Using the entire amount is just way to sweet for us. This is a big hit & goes fast. I've even made this when I only had 3/4 c of sour cream & it still was great.

Easy Mango Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
This took me by surprise. It is good, but I don't know if it is the fish sauce or what that really makes it taste like something you like, but can't eat much of. The texture of it feel strange in the mouth. Keeping it in my recipe box, but don't think I could have this more than maybe once or twice a year.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
OK but have better recipes for Salmon from this site. It wasn't very hot like I thought it would with the title being "Firecracker". I could always use more red pepper flakes I suppose. I didn't have peanut oil, but used canola with smashed peanuts in it so it would at least get some peanut flavor. Sorry, just disappointed in it.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2014
Hubby said this was a 4 or 5, but I felt it was a 3 so I compromised. It is different, but I'm not sure I want to cover up a piece of good steak with this very often.

Japanese Zucchini and Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2014
Took advice & added garlic. Hubby thought it had a crunchy taste, even though the zucchini was cooked through. We both liked that.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
Oh sooooo good. I've never had kale before & someone had given us a plant for our garden. Didn't know what to do with it except use in a salad, but hadn't even done that yet. I doubt now I'll even go that route because these are so quick & easy. We'll be planting kale next year for sure. I already told several others about these & we just tried them yesterday.

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2014
OK, but hubby thought it was a waste of good strawberries. Guess I won't make this again. Very easy to make though.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2014
OMG this was good. This is getting 5 stars because it is quick, easy & no hassle & taste high end. We did add some garlic like others suggested & would agree to this. We also marinated it overnight. This was so juicy & wasn't strong on balsamic which I was afraid would happen. A definite keeper. This will be used often.

Sour Cream Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2014
Where to start. Hubby liked it some so he is eating it, I can't. I was very disappointed in that I love Rhubarb Pie. Did exactly as recipe called, except for adding 1 c more of rhubarb which wasn't enough should I make this again. The one thing I would do different out of our family preference would be to make a marg, brown sugar, flour & oatmeal topping instead of this one. It seemed blah to me.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2014
Very easy, but no flavor. Won't be making this again, but will do something similar with herbs or spices added.

Huli Huli Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
We used skinless chicken breast & baked on 350. It was good, but we have other recipes similar to this that are a little more flavorful so we won't be making this again. If we didn't like our other recipe better I'd have kept this recipe.

Mexican Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
Won't make again because I don't like cake brownies and that is what this is. A good brownie to me is moist & not dry.

Garlic Bread Fantastique

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2014
Hubby didn't care for this at all & I thought it was just ok. The herbs just didn't do a thing for us as using garlic or Italian seasoning along with the cheese is much better.

Perfect Lobster Bisque

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2014
Disappointed. Made exactly as stated, but used crab instead of lobster because that is what was available fresh. I was really hopeful with this since it sounded easy & good.

Easy Grape Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
Did exactly and it was way to sweet for us. So we could eat it we then added a granny smith apple, still sweet so added celery. With the changes we'd rate a 4. I think next time we'll try other peoples suggestions and substitute either the marshmallow cream with cool whip or the cream cheese with sour cream. This is strictly for our own tastes because it was so sweet, nothing wrong otherwise. TIP: do use the tip given earlier on using a mixer to cream the marshmallow cream and the cream cheese. My mixer still had a hard time but plowed through it.

Smashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Sort of good, but we thought to much balsamic vinegar. I did like how they got a crispy edge after baking, but just to sour so won't make again.

Bourbon-Mango Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
OK, but there are many more recipes for pulled pork on this site that are better. Gave it a 2 star because it was edible. Made exactly as stated except only used 1 T of pepper because we thought that was a lot. It was because before we added the mango/BBQ sauce the pepper is all you tasted. We didn't use all the BBQ sauce either because just with what we used that is all you could taste when we did serve it. Guess we thought there would be more mango flavor, which we like.

Spring Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
Nice smell in the house as hubby was baking. We didn't have any pistachio nuts so used pecans. I never use as many nuts as called for in a recipe, personal preference.

Cinnamon Rolls From Frozen Bread Dough - EASY

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
Easy enough, but don't need the icing because they're sweet enough. Next time I'll cut the brown sugar back. This would be a 5 if it was a sweet bread dough instead of a regular bread dough.
