About this Cook
I'm melody I grew up in Finland but live in Germany. I grew up in a Jewish family and spent most of my youth saving up my allowence so that I could secretly go to Mc Donalds or have Bacon butties as they say in England. I'm a proffessionally trained baker and I am currently about to open my own bakery & chocolaterie. I specialise in wedding cake making and cake decorating.I spend my spare time travelling to places like Japan and Cuba. I couldn't live without my slow cooker and argue with my partner always why it is a must that I cook 80% of things in it I also couldn't live without my sushi moulds!
My favorite things to cook
Cake... obviously! Stuff that is a comfort food to me for example sloppy joes, Spaghetti bolognese, oreo cupcakes, pizza burgers. I also love cooking Japanese foods specially those with the ingredients of Salmon, Miso and also mango! I also take alot of pleasure in making sushi. I have to say though I generally like to cook new foods all the time :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up on traditional English, Jewish & Finnish food however currently my partner & his mum are teaching me there family traditions of German food. I love to eat the British food yorkshire puddings and also dumplings when I was growing up. I also loved my mums lasagne and also as she taught me to make fish dishes as I grew up.
My cooking triumphs
Probably my coconut cake which was made from fresh coconut and for my mother in laws birthday. Which everyone was shocked at! Also my fudgey apple crumble which if left alone for 5 minutes will all be eaten by my partner before anyone gets to touch it.
My cooking tragedies
I never really have them unless I go away and leave the food to cook and usually when I come back it's burned! My newest tradgey is that I made challah bread and only realised after I'd left it to soak in oil that the oil I had been using all along had peppercorns in really spicey ones eeek!

Sweet Dinner Rolls
Delicious, they were gone within about 30 minutes of being removed from the oven. Next time I make these I need to work out how to keep everyone's little fingers from my kitchen....
