Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
Pretty good, but I did not follow exactly. Only used 1/4 cup sugar, and ended up adding an extra TBS or two of buttermilk. I'm usually one of those that says "don't rate it if you didn't make it just as is" but in this case I knew for sure that was too much sugar for my taste. Baked at temp and time suggested in a cast iron skillet and, with the cut in sugar/slight add in buttermilk, it was alright.

Cinnamon-Swirl Raisin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
Very good. Used buttermilk instead of plain milk, but made no other changes. Only thing I will do differently next time is to be more careful about rolling the loaf up more tightly...my swirl in the middle might not have been as pretty as I wanted, but still tasted great!

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
First time using this recipe, and the cake turned out very moist and tastes great. The only problem is it looks and tastes like angel food cake, not yellow cake. Based on the other reviews, I think it must be something I did...I halved the recipe, but other than that followed it to the letter, so I have no idea what I did wrong. At least it still tastes great!

Garlic-Tarragon Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Whoever said this recipe was bad must have messed something up on their end. I omitted the tarragon because of personal taste, but left everything else the same. Served it over ravioli and chicken, and loved it.

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
These were very good. I used chunky salsa instead of chilies and onions in the filling, and a shredded mexican cheese blend. I reserved about 2 tbs of the cream of chicken when making the filling, mixing it with 1/4 cup salsa in a separate bowl. When I uncovered the enchiladas, I spooned the chicken/salsa mixture over the tops, then added cheese and returned to oven. They turned out great, and the sauce on top added a nice touch. Will be making this again!

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Made these for the first time following the recipe exactly. Like others said, they were sticky and a little hard to get into the pan, but they turned out very nice. I might add a little more sugar next time, but I tend to like things sweeter than most. Overall, very good!
