Honey-Garlic Slow Cooker Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2015
My very first time cooking boneless thighs and they were delicious. I followed the recipe exactly - only I doubled it. They were done after about 5 hours and were swimming in fat. Wouldn't want to use the drippings but the thighs were really good as is. I was careful not to turn or mix them at all while they were cooking and the sauce made a nice glaze. Will definitely make this again.

Parmesan Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2014
This was so delicious and hearty! The flavor had such zip and paired really well with bland quinoa for a super dinner. Like the other reviewers I turned on the broiler for the last few minutes.

Cranberry Chutney I

Reviewed: May 21, 2013
This was ok but I really didn't care for the flavor profile. I like cinnamon, ginger, allspice and clove but in this dish they overpowered the cranberry and the turkey. I wish I had just made my tried and true cranberry-orange relish.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: May 21, 2013
I love this recipe and especially appreciated the reviews that caution for over roasting! I wouldn't have known that the granola crisps up as it cools so when you take it out it's still kind of moist! I followed a couple of other suggestions - omitted the brown sugar completely and it was plenty sweet enough for me. I also used 1/2 cup butter instead of the oil - just my preference - and it tasted delicious! One other thing - I wanted to preserve the health benefits of using raw honey so I didn't boil the mixture of honey, syrup and (in my case) melted butter. Worked out fine.

Mini Ham Quiches

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
These tasted great but I, like another reviewer, needed some more guidance on the size of the muffin pan. I used regular cupcake sized pans after I realized that the ham and cheese would fill 24+ of my mini muffins. Then I couldn't get them out in one piece...so, like I said, they tasted great but I think I'll look around for a similar but more complete recipe.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2010
Love how simple these are to make and how tasty they come out. I've tried many turkey meatball recipes and this one is the winner and the one I always come back to. The only thing I add is about a 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese. Delicious!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
This recipe is destined to become a family favorite. The only change I made was to use fresh instead of frozen breast. Because of this I kept a close eye on the pot because I didn't want the chicken to dry out. The total cooking time was only about 3.5 hours.

Ricotta Gnocchi

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
Followed the recipes exactly (doubled) and these gnocchi were amazing! First time making pasta, too! They were much lighter (less dense) than potato gnocchi - which we all preferred. After reading some of the other reviews I was concerned about draining the ricotta - well I tried but virtually no liquid came out. I probably added a little additional flour to make the dough the right consistency- but not much. Te sauce was simple and the perfect with the accompaniment. Not to cheesy for my family's taste. A real winner and I'll definitely make again.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I cannot believe that I haven't been preparing asparagus this way my whole life....but will from now on!! So easy and delicious and no guessing if they're cooked enough or not.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
I LOVED this recipe - especially the cooking method for the asparagus. I can't believe I this is the first time that I roasted them - I won't be boiling or steaming asparagus ever again. They came out perfectly for my taste after 15 minutes. The sauce was delicious as well!

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I used broccoflower, told my family (that would NEVER eat cauliflower) that it was broccoli and they LOVED it. This is a wonderful recipe and I will use it often!

Seasoned Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
Wow! I never thought turkey burgers could be so good! I used 2 lbs of 93/7 (lean) turkey and Knorr's onion soup mix (which was 1.5 ounces), 2 eggs, 3 T. low salt soy, 1 t. powdered garlic, 1 t. black pepper and a small amount (1/4 cup)of seasoned bread crumbs - since the mixture was a little too moist. I cooked them on a griddle sprayed with pam on the stove top. I'm so happy to have a new recipe - my family refuses to eat grilled chicken any more!

Sweet and Tangy Glazed Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This was my first successful salmon recipe! The grilling without turning was key. I've since used this method with a basalmic glaze and the salmon always turns out perfectly moist and delicious.

American Frittata

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2008
My family LOVED this frittata! I simplified by saute-ing about 2 cups of thinly sliced new potatoes in same pan for about 10 minutes (in a combination of olive oil and butter). I added the onion (plus some green pepper) for the next 5 minutes, then the ham and then the egg mixture for 5 more minutes - covered. I put the whole thing in the oven (uncovered) for 10 minutes, then topped with the cheese and switched on the broiler for about 2 minutes. Perfect!

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
Love the flavor though the chicken was a little dry and a little too salty. I did use some of the liquid for making brown rice and that was delicious. Don't know if I'd make again...maybe with less soy?

Asparagus and Mushroom Frittata

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
I was using a large pan so I increased all ingredients by 1/2. It came out perfectly and the left-over portion reheats well. I will definitely make this again and will try some of the substitutions others have listed (for my veggie adverse teens...).
