Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
Very yummy! I am not a huge fan of Sausage, but I really liked it (enough to go for seconds). We had it over rice and I like it that way. The sausage fell apart and we didn't even need knives. I added quartered fresh mushrooms. My sauce came out rather watery since I did add water like the other ratings mentioned. Next time I wont do that.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
This is so yummy. I double the artichoke topping because that is the best part. The topping keeps the chicken moist. I do recommend what others say about squeezing the hearts in paper towel before mixing in to avoid excess water in the cooking pan. I use sour cream with the mayo (at about 1-3 ratio). My finace' loves this so much he asks for it at least once a week.

Chicken Riggies

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This was very yummy. I don't like hot peppers so I omitted them. Instead I added orange bell peppers and mushrooms. I found it needed more cream than it called for. My family loved it and kept going back for more! I found it a tad bland so I added a few drops of red hot sauce to my plate and it was really good! I recommend this!

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
I loved this one! I used resh mushrooms because I prefer them. My fiance said he thought the meet was a little dry, but I didn't think so. He said he might have preferred ground beef. I thickened the sauce with flour per other reviews. Was so yummy over egg noodles!

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

This was an okay dish. Nothing spectacular. I added more parmesan because we like cheese. Liked the ease of the recipe.

Hazelnut-Mushroom Pilaf

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
This was so great! I made it for Father's Day when I had my family meet my finace's family, so I was nervous about the meal. It was so good that my gormet cook grandma even loved it. Everyone had seconds and thirds. I made it with slivered almonds instead of hazelnuts as I prefer them. This will be a regular at my house from now on.

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
I made this for Father's Day and it was awesome! One thing that was quite different was that it only took 10 minutes on our grill. I marinaded it over night and I think that added to the tenderness. I also added a little minced garlic because I love garlic, and a few crushed red pepper flakes. This is a keeper. We will definately make this again. If you are looking for a yummy side dish for this, I made mushroom hazelnut rice pilaf from this site with it. That dish was awesome too!

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
Very good recipe. I liked that is was easy too. I agree with others that this is more cake like than bread like, but that didn't matter to me... still delicious. I like it even better with plain cream cheese spread on a slice. I used walnuts instead of pecans because that is what I had on hand... Will make again for sure.

Caramelized Onions on the Grill

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
Delicious! Served with grilled steak, but I ate the onions all by themself they were so good. I might try adding fresh mushrooms to it next time. So simple, and so yummy. Also, I used Valida Onions and I think that made a difference.

Blueberry French Toast Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
The instructions for this recipe leave a lot to be desired. However with some assistance from my good friends on the recipe exchange, I figured it out. I served this to special company for brunch and it was very good. I didn't have stale bread, so I used fresh and it was still yummy.

Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
I was surprised how much we liked this one. I thought the gravy packet would be gross, but it isn't. My hubby loves it. I also add chopped onion and some garlic (add those to almost everything). I prefer fresh mushrooms, so I use those. Very quick, very easy, very filling, good ole comfort food.

Sausage Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
My Family a I loved this one, even my 9 year old went back for third helpings. I cooked on low for 5 hours. Used smoked beef kielbasa and medium salsa, and roasted chili peppers (in the can). I added shredded cheese on top of mine at the table with some sour cream and WOW! This is definitely a keeper! Only thing I didn't like was the onions remained crunchy (the bell peppers did cook okay). Next time I will either microwave onions to soften or saute (depending on time).

Beefy Mushroom Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly as written, and I was hugely disappointed. It was bland and had very little depth of flavor. Perhaps it would have been better if I had used some red wine or beef broth versus just water and bouillon cubes. Sorry to be a downer on a well rated recipe, but I followed it exactly and daughter and I ended up going out to dinner instead.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Wonderful! I have never had much success making soup, but this one turned out great. I added red bell pepper and ditalini and about 1.5 teaspoons of Ms Dash Italian Seasoning. Yummy! Family loved it... hardley any leftovers! Next time I will add more onion and more garlic, as I love those flavors.

Slow Cooker Dump and Go Cheesy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Didn't care for the flavor. I did vary the recipe, so it isn't exactly as it called for. I used 2 cans cheddar soup and 1 can cheddar broccoli soup. Added 1 bag frozen broccoli. My family gave it mixed reviews.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Great flavor. Added a touch of white wine and used cooked shrimp instead of raw. Served mixed in with linguine. Was a hit with the family! Will add to my regular rotation of meals.

Easy Deviled Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
Pretty good, but I think I may have bought the wrong stuffing mix. I used the kind in a bag. I liked the flavor, and did reduce cooking time as a reviewer suggested to 30 minutes covered and 15-20 uncovered. I may try again with stove-top next time to see if the crust comes out better. Mine was very chunky even though I crushed the croutons to the best of my ability.

Shortbread Cookies III

Very tasty. Used another reviewers idea and rolled into a log and sliced dough. Worked out well. When cooled, I dipped rounds into dark chocolate and chopped walnuts for a pretty finish. Delicious too.
