Kickin' Turkey Burger with Caramelized Onions and Spicy Sweet Mayo

I liked these. It was my first time making turkey burgers and some pals on the buzz recommended them. I am not used to working with ground turkey at all, so I am sure there is a learning curve. They were very flavorful, which is a big part of what I loved about them. The flavors profile was really nice together. I opted to omit the jalepenos as I am not a fan of that much heat. The sauce is also wonderful. The only complaint I had was that my burgers were hard to form and keep together. When I grated the onion, I added all of it (after using the food processor to grate it). Maybe I was supposed to leave out the extra liquid, but being a novice with ground turkey, I added it. I highly recommend not skipping either the sauce of the onions, as the three are great together. I also opted to toast my burger roll. Thank you occasional cooker- no longer afraid of boring turkey burgers!

Farm Fresh Zucchini Cranberry Nut Muffins

These are so delicious! Didn't change recipe at all, except used butter instead of margarine. Mine came out light and airy! Batter is thick, but don't worry they come out perfect. Used frozen cranberries. Nice combo of tartness and sweet. OMG, a keeper for sure! Thank you shorecook! UPDATE 8/17/14- Made a version of these with frozen raspberries, and they were spectacular! I think I may even like them better with the raspberries.

Rustic Italian Roasted Potatoes

Excellent! I used dried thyme and rosemary, no fresh in house. Family went nuts over these, especially the roasted garlic. Mine needed a while longer in oven, but that is typical for my oven, especially for potatoes. Thank you for this awesome method and recipe!

The Best Baby Back Ribs You'll EVER Eat!

AMAZING!!!!! I followed directions to the letter. Baked in foil for 5 hours. I heavily seasoned with the salt, pepper and garlic powder. Put in fridge overnight and then next day put on grill. We had this awesome honey BBQ sauce. The meat was so tender and so luscious! This was my very first time making ribs, and I see no reason to ever make them any other way from here on out. Italian Love Cake

Delicious! Not too sweet, which is a big part of a successful dessert to me. Used devils food cake, no changes to recipe. But I will say I was smelling burning of the cake. It bakes quite a long time, which concerned me. When I checked on it when I smelled burning, it was quite done on the sides but middle not even close. Closed oven and said a prayer. Worked out fine. Cooled and the placed in fridge. Next day, made up "frosting" put on cake and shaved chocolate curls on. Looked pretty. Brought to a friends for dinner. They all LOVED IT! I highly recommend this cake.

Cranberry BBQ Chicken

Very good. However, I will admit I made in my slow cooker. I found this recipe, essentially the same in my slow cooker cookbook. I actually cooked too long in slow cooker. I used bone-in chicken thighs, skin removed. Cooked on low for 7 hours. For the sauce, I did add a hefty dash of garlic powder. Only had jelly cranberry sauce, not whole berry kind, so I added a small palm-full of frozen cranberries. Sauce was amazing! I think the whole dish would have been great had I not overcooked my chicken. Funny, cause my grandma and husband made a gravy/sauce sandwich with sauce on top of bread after dinner. (Yup, that's how good it is!)

Sister Schubert's® Breakfast Bake

I loved this! Couldn't find this brand of rolls do I used another frozen name brand wheat roll. Used a package of original Jimmy Dean sausage. Only change were 2: 1) used frozen chopped spinach. Not quite a while package, just eyeballed it. Which I did sautée with other veggies. (After squeezing excess liquid when defrosted) 2) added some small diced red bell pepper for color and added flavor. Was really tasty! I kept going back for more. Served at a brunch and people kept asking for this recipe.

Keekers Portobellos

Well, I had copied this from a posting by Keeker and it came out pretty darned good. Not the prettiest things though. I used ricotta and it ended up running a lot when cooked. I used three portobellos so I only used one bag of spinach. No shallots so used sweet onions. And white wine. (I guess there are a few changes, huh?). Very tasty! Husband said he was going to get sick cause he couldn't stop eating despite being full.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

We love this!!! I use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder and dried oregano. I put it all in a big bowl, and toss so that the chicken, taters and seasonings coat it all evenly. Then I sprinkle kosher salt and ground pepper on top after placing in baking pan. My daughter's favorite chicken dish, hands down!

Greek Orzo Salad

Pretty good in my opinion. Beware this is deceiving and made a big bowl. Had tons left after dinner. Followed recipe except no olives per my personal preference. I felt it needed a little more liquid/dressing prior to placing in fridge to chill so I added a bit if the marinade early (the rest of which I added later, per recipe). Family said it was good, but for me I wanted a bit more seasoning. Feta taste was prominent which is ok. I didn't tweek much as it was first time making, and wanted to follow recipe as much as I could. Next time may play with seasonings or add my own Greek dressing.

Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki Sauce

Wow! I loved this chicken. Mine was very flavorful, but that being said, my plans changed and it ended up marinating a day and a half. I served with store bought tzatziki cause I was feeling lazy, so can't review the sauce. Served in naan bread with diced red onion, tomato and feta for my family to build their own sandwich. The chicken was the best part if dinner! Made Greek Orzo salad to accompany.

Banana Cake VI

Delicious! The only modification I made was to slightly reduce sugar to 2 cups. Mine needed a bit more time in oven, about an hour I think until the toothpick test showed it done. I removed from oven straight to freezer as instructed. The cake turned out super moist, often when a cake is moist, it has an underdone texture, but not here, just moist and delicious! I did not frost, as we don't like overly sweet things. I felt it didn't need frosting anyway. I opted to store in fridge because of its moistness, and honesty, I like it chilled even better! Chipotle Beef Tostadas

Very very tasty! At first I thought it was going to be too spicy for me because I had my husband test the can of chiplotes for me since I'm a spice whimp. But once it was all put together it was perfect. I enjoyed the diced potatoes in it, as did everyone at my table. Topped my lightly toasted tostadas with cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, onion, sour cream and avocados. So yummy! Served with Spanish rice!

Peach Muffins

Pretty good. Only reason its not five stars is because there isn't a real strong peach flavor. My daughter thought it was a snickerdoodle muffin with fruit. I cut cinnamon in half because it seemed like a lot, glad I did (and I love cinnamon). I topped mine with turbindo sugar which added a nice crunch and shiny look. Will likey make again. (I used canned peaches so I suppose it could have made it less "peachy" flavored).

Sausage and Bean Ragout

I really liked this. I didn't use any ground beef and used one pound sweet Italian sausage cause I'm whimpy about spiciness. Super easy to make. I only had access to a large can of crushed tomatoes with basil so I used those instead of the diced. Added some Italian spices since I didn't use the tomatoes with the basil, garlic and oregano. The fresh basil really adds nice flavor so if possible don't omit. Preboiled my pasta so it didnt soak up my lovely soup. After cooked and drained, added it to the soup. This recipe is great but is also a good starting point to add other veggies and/or different beans. Update- even better second and third days. Had for lunches and enjoyed every drop!

Haluski - Cabbage and Noodles

Very good! Made to go with my corned beef and it was a perfect accompaniment! I used a medium head of cabbage and it was the right ratio for us. Baked about 35-40 min. I did add some garlic salt and garlic powder when I seasoned it before baking. I took one suggestion and had mine with sour cream and in my opinion, it took it over the top. I'm glad it made a lot, cause I cant wait to eat if for the next few days.

Braised Corned Beef Brisket

Supper yummy! I'm not a fan if corned beef but after reading reviews and hearing folks rave in the buzz, I decided to make this for St. Patricks day. Do glad u did! I rinsed my roast, dried, and painted in the bouquet, then browned per instructions. I took Baking Nana's suggestion and wrapped in foil a few times. Mine leaked so I was glad I had it on a tray. I smelled burning, but didn't realize it had leaked so I stopped cooking at four hours thinking it was burnt. Let sit in oven after turning it off for about an hour and holy smokes was it good! DELICIOUS! I guess I can't say I don't like corned beef anymore. Thank you Mauigirl! Fantastic!
