Air Force wife and mother of four. Now that the kids are older, I'm juggling cooking for two, cooking for six, and cooking when my sons bring a friend (think lumberjack).
I am a research junkie, a writer, and a voracious reader. I also make jewelry--it helps me remember I'm female!
My favorite things to cook
Pork tenderloin, because it's so simple and delicious--although my teenage sons eat half of it before it's served; chicken in all its variations; and those veggies that steam in the bag. (Oops, did I write that out loud?)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Barbecue ribs--these are beef ribs, fat removed, homemade sauce, and a full day of cooking. Worth every minute. Chocolate chip cookies are another favorite, using my late mother's recipe.
My cooking triumphs
I love my cream puffs filled with French silk and dusted with cocoa; but I've had requests for those chocolate chip cookies from around the world.
My cooking tragedies
Last Thanksgiving, after 20 years of tender, juicy, *perfect* turkey, I "down-sized" to a small turkey breast. It was so dry and unappealing, even I wouldn't eat it.
