About this Cook
I'm a physical therapist now stay at home mom with a newborn baby boy. We spend most of our days hanging out, shopping, visiting daddy while he works, and relaxing. I am really enjoying my time at home and watching my son grow.
My favorite things to cook
I love creating new recipes especially for dinner and trying new ethnic foods. My favorite things to make are probably apple dumplings and homemade pumpkin pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't have too many family cooking traditions except for the slovak side which hallupki and hallushki, however I have not yet mastered those foods on my own yet. My mom and grandma and I like to get together to make them.
My cooking triumphs
I created a delicious gorgonzola spinach and shrimp pizza. My apple dumplings are amazing, even though I just use Betty's recipe!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to recreate a Costa Rican dish that my Tica friend made and I destroyed it! Turns out it wasnt as easy as it appeared. My loving husband attempted to eat it like a champ, but after i tried it, I had him stop, haha, it was horrible!

Cream of Pumpkin Soup
Amazing recipe! I made it for a fall themed baby shower and I had none left over to bring home! I am glad I read the reviews and I used alot of the advice. I did have to double the recipe but that did not really affect it too much. I went lighter on the onions, used the fat free less sodium chicken broth, added a handful of brown sugar and added twice the seasonings of cinnamon and ginger. For extra flare I added nutmeg and used cayenne pepper which really did bring out the flavor of the whole soup. Instead of heavy cream I used light cream and instead of cinnamon croutons I used ginger snaps! Someone at the party also said pumpernickel bread was amazing in the soup as well! Enjoy!

Spaghetti Torte
Tasted great! I pretty much followed exactly except I used a can of petit diced tomatoes instead of regular tomatoes so they were more tender. Added some garlic as well! My husband was pretty impressed with the presentation! Enjoy!
