Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
Super recipe. I roasted my own pepper (an orange one) and also toasted a tablespoon of sesame seeds and crushed them up with my mortar and pestle, and added a bit of olive oil to make it a paste, since I don't have any tahini. Cut down on the cayenne and left out the parsley, and added some more olive oil and a Tbs of water while I was blending to help it come together. Topped it with a bit of chopped roasted pepper I had reserved. Love it.

Shrimp and Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
Awesome. Made a bunch of alterations to it, like doubling the recipe and using 1/2 rice vinegar, 1/2 balsamic, adding a tbs of ground ginger, 2 tbs brown sugar, 2 tbs honey, some squirts of sriracha and a box of whole wheat spaghetti. Also made up the sauce in a pan and boiled the shrimp first in its own pot, then took them out, boiled the broccoli in the same water, removed them and finally boiled the pasta too. Mixed everything together as soon as i drained the pasta, and it turned out fantastic!

Savory Italian Sausage Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
Definitely a good flavour, but WAY too much red pepper, it overrides the rest of the sauce. I hope after it rests for a day it'll be a little milder.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
I had super high expectations after reading the reviews, and I'm sorry to say I was a little let down! You could taste the honey, and maybe a little mustard if you thought hard about it, but i tasted no curry (2 tsp worth), or the cumin and garlic that I added! It was a sweet, mellow chicken dish, but not at all what I was expecting.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
Good recipe, but definitely misnamed, it's not spicy at all, the flavour is very mild. Sweet, chewy cookie, just will use a lot more spices next time.

Tomato Basil Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
Meh. Pretty bland, and the cheese got grainy and odd when mixed with the tomatoes. Wasn't bad by any means, but I also won't be making it again.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Fantastic! Just the right amount of herb flavour. Followed the recipe exactly (minus the marjoram, we didn't have any) and I baked it on a cookie sheet at 350 for 50 minutes.. Perfection!

Orange-Ginger Chicken and Veggies

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
Even without the hot pepper sauce, this recipe is NOT for the faint of palate. My nose ran and lips burned the entire time I ate this. Great flavour otherwise, and the cooking times were perfect for the veggies, they had the perfect texture. Next time will use only 1 tbs of chili sauce!

Coriander and Cumin Rubbed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Good! Great flavour, my only complaint was that the paste made it so the pork chops had a slight chalky texture, and while it wasn't entirely unpleasant, I'd prefer a smoother mouthfeel.

Fantastic flavour, holds up really well with slicing and leaving it out for a few days, and tastes best with a little honey spead on it!! Had to bake mine for ten minutes more than the recommended so definitely test to make sure it's done!

Uncle Mac's Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
Great cookie! Got rave reviews at the party i brought them to. Definitely let them sit a few minutes and then let them cool as much as you can before transferring them to any kind of container, i thought mine weren't cooked enough but they just needed to set.
