Wow,  loving this cake.  I did not get recipe from here.  It was from a Joanne Fluke book.  It was pretty easy to make and so moist.  I love the flavor.  I have been baking for many years now and don't always feel this great after making something.  I was thinking of some things to add to make it even better.  Will try out my idea soon.  I am sure some of you out there know of this passion for baking or cooking is.  I sometimes mess up, but that is okay.  I love the feeling of kneading dough.  I feel great when whipping, folding and mixing.  I just wish that I realized this earlier maybe I would be doing something different with my life.  For now I have to be satisfied with baking when I can and trying out new cooking methods as I can.  I find joy in my triumphs and lessons in my failures.

Ahhh, now I remember why Joanne Fluke sounded familiar... she writes murder mysteries, and her books have recipes, right? Which book is your recipe from here? I have never read her books, but will put it on my list (I know Amazon.com sells them, and customers rate books, so will check into it!) ~

Hey Diane, I just finished reading J. Flukes "Carrot Cake Murder" this weekend with that particular recipe! I'm looking forward to trying it as I love all things almond. I've read quite a few of her books as I just request them from my public library. No need to purchase them! They are an easy read complete with her tested recipes. I highly recommend her books. I've tried a few of her recipes and they are always winners.

About Me
I am a person who works in retail, but my love is baking. Whenever I read about or see a fantastic dessert I get happy. I long to learn as much as I can and one day be able to just whip something up on my own. I also like sharing with my family and friends and when they smile or make happy noises as they eat it makes me complete.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies when I have alot of time. I also love the feel of baking my own fresh breads and cakes. I love the smells that fill the air and when someone comes in from outside and remarks on the scent.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother did the italian feasts. But other than her there have been no family cooking traditions. I do hope that one day they can at least start with me.
My cooking triumphs
Finally made the perfect buttercream frosting after twenty years. i jumped up and down. I have also gotten to have alot of victories with making breads and cookies to die for. Cream puffs that brought everyone joy.
My cooking tragedies
Again bread, sometimes does not rise. Too chilly in my house. Also a pumpkin cheesecake with lumps, darnit. Mostly bread, hockey puck hard.
