Pickled Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
Mom wanted some pickled asparagus. I could not find what she wanted at the store, but the asparagus was on sale. Never canned a thing in my life but these turned out GREAT. Mom loved them. My Mom turned 92 this year and if she wants something I try to get it for her. The whole family loved them. Very easy to do.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

These are GREAT. Made for a party at church and got rave reviews. If you leave in longer they get snappy but not hard. The ones I took where chewy.

Chess Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
I loved this pie. Very, very, sweet. I used lemon instead of vinegar, (I was out of vinegar) it was great. I wanted something sweet and I had to find something I had the ingredients for on hand. This fit the bill. I will be making it again.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
Great, I cooked it on top of the stove because it was to hot to use the oven. I also browned the pork chops first. Everyone loved it. I have made it twice and the results are great. I guess you could use the crockpot on low if you have to be gone most of the day.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
Great, best sauce I have ever tasted. Used it on spareribs yesterday I will never buy the bottled stuff again. Cinnamon, who would have thought? I just happened to have all the ingredients on hand and no bbq sauce, so I tried this. Fantastic

Thighs on Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
I had taken chicken thighs out to cook tonight. My husband seen them and asked me to cook the chicken and rice dish that I cooked a few weeks ago. He is not one to request I cook something. He commented that the rice was very good and he liked it better than the ones with cream of something soup. I will be keeping this one.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2013
I made this for lunch today, my husband loved it! I cooked four thighs because it's just my husband and I. I made too much sauce, so I saved it and will serve the chicken with a pasta tomorrow using the leftover sauce. My broiler is in the bottom of the oven, so I baked the chicken.

Peach Upside Down Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
My nieghbor gave me five large peaches and I had to do something with them as they were getting overripe. I sliced my peaches and since they were large, I increased the recipe by 1/2 and used 9x13. I used 2 eggs. I did not increase the peaches. I also added cinnamon and allspice. It was real good hot. A keeper. A delightful change from pineapple.
