Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
I made it with the given ingredients, temperature, and time, but I cooked it on a cooking rack placed on a cookie sheet because I was afraid all the oil would make it soggy. The kitchen smelled great, and the chicken looked nice, but it was a bit bland and really soggy on the bottom, even though I used the cooking rack. It might be helped with extra seasoning, but it would still be too soggy on the bottom.

Starr's Savory Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
Very tasty, but I didn't want to make huge meatballs, so I rolled them into little 1 1/2 inch balls. Watch your cooking time if you do this, or they'll overcook. Very good!

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
I would give it five stars, but I had to modify the original recipe as follows: I used bags instead of bowls as someone suggested, and added garlic powder and parsley to the liquid batter. In addition, instead of bread crumbs, I used panko crumbs, which resulted in a wonderful crunchy onion ring. Thanks for posting this wonderful recipe.

Herb-Glazed Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
Very moist and flavorful turkey. I used a cooking bag and altered the time as follows: only one hour instead of two before adding the honey, then add the honey mixture and cook until done, roughly 2 1/2 hours. I also opened the bag only once to baste the turkey after I put the honey mixture on. I didn't have any sage, so I substituted oregano. I was a little worried about the seasonings being so strong, but the flavor was not over-powering at all. Even my boyfriend, who dislikes heavily-seasoned food, loved it. Thank you for this recipe. I will definitely make this again!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Wonderful recipe. I only had four bananas and doubled the recipe using just the four. It was excellent! I will add just a touch more nutmeg next time. The kids loved it.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
The flavor was good, but I halved the rosemary and garlic, and even then it was a bit over-powering. I halved the salt based on others' recommendations, as well. I cooked it twice as long as indicated before it got to the correct temperature. It was moist and tender and had a good flavor, but just a bit too much flavor. Thank you for sharing it. I have always wanted to try to make lamb.

Great recipe, thanks! I didn't have any cream of tartar, so I used 2 tsp of lemon juice.

Cornbread Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
It was very tasty and easy to make. I gave it a four instead of a five only because it was way too thick as-is and I had to add a half a cup of whole milk. Otherwise, it was delicious. Thanks for sharing it!

Dry Rub for Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Really really good rub, but a little salty. Will use half the amount next time. My son ate them dry then wet, and said it was better with the Sweet Baby Ray's sauce. Thanks for the great recipe!

Beef or Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
Wonderful recipe! I've made this a half a dozen times over the summer. I use it on chicken breasts cut into strips, let it marinade, put the chicken strips on skewers, then grill them. Serve with a side of steamed rice, and it makes a wonderful meal. Even my teenager, who hates marinades and sauces, loves this.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
Very good recipe, but like others I used brown sugar instead of corn syrup, and omitted the cloves. Next time, I will use half the amount of butter, as well, as it was a touch too buttery. I also used an oven bag, which leaked, but it still wasn't that bad to clean up.

Pineapple Sirloin Skewers

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
This was good but a bit too peppery to me. I increased the brown sugar to 2/3, the pineapple to a 20 ounce can, decrease the pepper by half, and it takes on a much sweeter taste. Good base. I've use it with chicken only so far.

Tried it and it was delicious. I did put a lot more pepper in it, for a bit more of a kick.
