Maple Walnut Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I bought all the ingredients with full intentions of making this and taking it to my sisters for Thanksgiving but after talking to her we decided to eliminate it because we had too many desserts coming. I made it for our weekly family dinner instead. The request has been made to make it for Thanksgiving! This was absolutely delicious, if it wasn't for my daughter not liking the nut part I would never make a plain pumpkin pie again. This was great, don't hestitate make this one. I used Fat Free Eagle brand sweet and condensed milk, I baked it an extra 10 mins before adding topping it seemed too watery in the middle. I'm not sure if that anything to do with the fat free or not but it was great!

Bob's Stuffed Banana Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
This is a great recipe, but it does make a lot of peppers. I made 28 from the recipe! I was making these for a trial run before I made them for a family get together and ended up only having to make 1 batch. Because of the huge amount of peppers I had to make extra of the sauce mixture. Watch the salt in the sauce 1 1/2 teaspoons does make it taste salty. I actually ended up using my own sauce to top the peppers with because of how salty it tasted to me, but otherwise they were a hit. I also topped with some grated romano cheese and shredded mozzarella the last 10 mins of baking. I will definitely be making these again. Also since the recipe made so many peppers I had to freeze some before I could use them for my party. They froze well. I was actually thinking of buying more peppers now, while they are on sale, and making another batch and freezing them for later use.

Libby's® Pumpkin Roll with Cream Cheese Filling

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I was very hesitant about making this with the rolling of the dough and the whole towel thing but it was actually easy. Take my advice forget the greasing and flouring of the pan and the towel for that matter, use parchment paper. No sticking at all! It was super easy. This is how I did it, I lined my pan with the parchment, baked it, drizzled confectioner's sugar on the cake after I took it out, flipped onto another piece of parchment paper. Peeled off the one that I used for baking and actually put it on my next pan for my next roll. I then put a piece of wax paper on the cake and then rolled and placed it in the fridge for a good 20 minutes or so. I doubled the spices it came out great I also subbed pecans for the walnut.

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
This was so easy my husband loved it. I did add a small can of tomatoe paste to thicken the sauce, kept the sauce the same used 2 lbs of sausage and 2 red peppers and 2 green still had tons of sauce left over. Used it about week later and made spaghetti with it! I did boil the sausage for about 20-30 mins to release the grease. Thanks for the great recipe. Will be making often!

Tiramisu Bowl

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
I've made this dozens of times, its always a hit. Most of the time I omit the rasberries, makes no differnce on taste, they are there more for presentation. I use the french vanilla cool whip, takes this over the top.

Meatball Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
These were very tasty and fairly easy to make once I got the dough to the right consistency. I did not have ground cloves or the all spice, I added extra nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon to try and make up for the cloves. They came out great. When glazing the cookies I gave up on using a teaspoon to spoon it over the cookies, I just started dipping the cookies right in the glaze ended up being much easier. My Italian mom has been making these for years and she said mine were very good. Thanks for the recipe!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
the 1st batch I made I took another reviewer advice of adding an extra 1/4 cup of flour forget that! Took me so long to get the cookies to roll into a ball. The second batch I followed the recipe as stated turned out great. I did put the cookies in the freezer before baking though.

Kielbasa Appetizers

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
I made this as an appetizer for New Year's Day, but I used Lil Smokies came out great, I only used 1 bottle of beer, I guess that's 12 ounces and I did add Worchester Sauce. At first I only added 2 Tablespoons worth but decided it needed more after the cooking was done so I added a few more dashes.

Quick and Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
The title is definitely appropriate on this one. I served it to my in laws and hubby who all really liked it. I will be making this again but next time I will add an extra can of peaches one was not quite enough for the 9 X 13 pan. I also added nutmeg and cinnamon. I think next time I will add a little vanilla.

Pan Pierogies

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
Very good recipe, is a crowd pleaser. I used my own mashed potatoes. I also used the no boil Lasagna noodles, which I will not do again. The top and bottom layers of noodles were hard. Next time I will use the boil noodles.

this was ok, I guess I expected it to be more of a cranberry pie but it was more like a cheese cake with a cranberry topping

Mandarin Almond Salad

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made this for Mother's day everyone seemed to like it, I left out the onions and used chili powder instead of crushed pepper flakes, made the almonds and dressing the night before. Will make again, used 2 bags of salad spring mix and buttered lettuce.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
This was my first attempt at Beef Stew and it was a total hit! I pretty much followed the recipes with the exception of a few minor chnages. Since I was opening a can of beef broth I added the whole 2 cups, but after 2 hours on low I was afraid it might get runny so I added a Tablespoon of corn starch to thicken. Next time I'll just use the 1 1/2 cups, I also added a little bit more Worchester sauce, a tad bit more salt and pepper to suit my tastes and i doubled the bay leaf. Came out fantastic, don't brother with all the extra work of browning absolutely no need for it! Thanks for the fantastic recipe.

Lemon Delight

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This is an excellent light refreshing dessert. I made this for my family's game night almost everyone had seconds. I made it as directed except for my lemon pie filling wasn't large enough, it was only 15 oz, so I juiced a fresh lemon and then added about a capful of lemon extract. I only used 8 oz tub of cool whip it was plenty. Also I added about a teaspoon of vanilla to the cream cheese layer. I had to bake the crust for about 30 mins.

Broccoli Chicken Roli

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This is an excellent recipe. I sauted the onion and green pepper and minced garlic in a skillet. I also used frozen broccoli the kind that comes in the steamer bags, microwaved it first. I first came across the Chicken and Broccoli Braid recipe off this site and I followed those instructions and made the crescents into the braided design, it does make a lot of filling you need at least 2 cans of the crescents. Baked it for 25 mins, came out perfect. Before making it into the braid instead of the wreath, I did spray my cookie sheet w/cooking spray. Thank you for this great recipe took it to my nephews birthday party came back with an empty plate. My mom has already requested I make this for Easter.
