It was our 23rd anniversary and David and I were away without any kids or grandkids. Wow. He did almost all of the cooking for this meal - grilled EVERYTHING - and it was so good! He said he wanted to try grilled asparagus and, as you can see, everything rolled onto the grill that night. With salad, good wine and fresh fruit for dessert we felt like royalty. Well, that night we were royalty. I have since lost 17 lbs - I'm doing my level best to eat vegan - it's not difficult, it just takes planning and homework; you must have all the proper proportions of nutrients, or what's the point? It's my cholesterol (way too high)and I'm in a battle with my doc - if I can bring it down with diet then I don't have to take meds. And that's definitely my goal. The weird thing is that even though I know I've enjoyed meat all my life it kind of grosses me out now to handle it and prepare it for the rest of my family (my husband and 20 yr. old son). Anyway - this was a great weekend. :-)
