Bada Bing Bada Banged Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2013
TOO, TOO GOOD!! Our adult children are all "foodies" and I used this recipe for a family celebration this evening (our youngest daughter was just promoted to weekend TV new anchor). They were the guinea pigs and they took the bait, big-time. All fresh herbs and fresh garlic were used (proportionally) rather than dried because the family prefers it. Otherwise, the recipe was faithfully followed. Simply delicious! Wow, I've gotta rest now ... I ate waaaay too many of these wonderful potatoes. Bada-Boom!

Chocolate Tres Leches Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
I've made this for dinner parties three times and twice for my family. It's a delicious hit! Our friends and grandchildren beg for this divine cake (our daughters are always dieting, but they always have a piece anyway). The only change I made was using a stick of melted butter in place of the canola oil (we like our butter around here). Sorry, gotta go -- just getting another one of these cakes out of the oven for a party on Friday.

Kyle's Favorite Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
Whoa, baby, this is the one! While my family loves any sort of beef stew, I'm not usually a fan ... except for "Kyle"s Favorite." Delicious, exquisite, I can eat this for breakfast. I halved the recipe, used fresh parsley and per another reviewer's idea, used canned beef broth instead of water, a pinch of allspice and some bay leaves. This is simply heaven in a crockpot. Thank you very much for sharing.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
Just made this again today, and it was utterly delicious!! Instead of the dried seasonings/herbs, I used fresh minced thyme and sage (those plastic clamshell fresh herbs available in every grocery store), and substituted granulated chicken bouillon for the salt. I prepared it all yesterday, stored it in the crockpot in the fridge and then cooked it today on "high" for 2 hours before serving -- perfection. My family ADORES this recipe (heck, they ask for it in July)!

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I took the advice of other reviewers and doubled the marinade, used fresh minced garlic and finely chopped red onion rather than dried. I also used only 1 tsp of cinnamon rather than 2 because that's more to our taste. The gravy was scrumptious served over mashed potatoes, and the pork melted in our mouths -- no knife required. We weren't sure the sweetness would work for us, but it certainly did. My husband and I both adored this recipe and look forward to making it again soon.

Warm Winter Citrus Dessert

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
Light, delicious and just perfect! I added 1/2 cup coconut to the mix. As our youngest daughter used to say, "all gone!"

Skillet Apple Brownie

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
After resurrecting a 100+ years old cast iron skillet originally belonging to my husband's grandmother, I made this delicious, delightful dessert last night. What a treat! The only change I made was substituting 1 tablespoon of apple pie spice for the cinnamon/nutmeg/cloves. Fast, easy and inexpensive, my family was in love! Thanks for a great recipe.

Creamy Tomato Bisque

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
Absolutely delicious! Left out the fennel seed (too much for my husband) and used one cup whole milk and one cup half-and-half. Can't wait to make this with fresh tomatoes this summer. Truly a masterpiece. Thanks for such a fabulous flavor.

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
There aren't enough stars to rate these little treasures; they're utterly divine. I used fresh basil, but stuck strictly to the recipe otherwise. My family can't get enough of 'em! My brother, who considers himself Craig Claiborne, Julia Child and Escoffier only better, initially turned his nose up at these ... until he tasted one. He's much too proud to ask for the recipe, but he did ask to take some home. Thanks for such a wonderful offering.

Best Hamburger Ever

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
Delicious! This is very similar to a recipe for "frikadellen" that my German Oma taught me to make when I was little (50 years ago). These make great homemade meatballs, too. Thanks for sharing.

Chicken and Artichoke Minestrone

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
This looked like it would be one fantastic recipe, and it sure is! My husband and I will dip in tonight, and we're feeding this delightful concoction to 5 college kids tomorrow. Because there was fresh spinach and corn on hand, those were used instead of canned and frozen. I also doubled the orzo, knowing we were feeding all those boys. That little "soupcon" of sherry and those hot pepper flakes are lipsmackers. This recipe will be handed off to our two married daughters, and will be a "regular" in our house. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful recipe. To borrow from a commercial, this is "mmmmmm, mmmmmmm good!"
