Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

This recipe gets three stars. One for being a one pot wonder, one for being easy, and one because I liked the ingredients. I followed the recipe as closely as I could: didn't have fresh ginger or lentils. I substituted powdered ginger and used 1/2 cup barley. I mashed instead of pureed. Still I found it rather bland. At the very end I added a bit of thyme and sage, and poured the soup over left over diced ham. Eh. Still needs something.

wow! the perfect scone. i used dried cranberries and the zest of one orange and served them with the devonshire cream from this site. thanks for the recipe!

Hmmm. Maybe I did it wrong, but this was really soupy. Flavor was great, but I had to freeze it to get the texture I wanted.
