Dilly Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2015
Awesome recipe! My dad use to make this when I was a kid. I definitely recommend it. Used a little more dill weed and minced onion due to personal preference, will cut salt in half next time. Give this a try!!!

Braised Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
These were awesome! Thanks for the recipe. There no was need for the flouring and browning process. I put them in a dutch oven with beef broth, stewed tomatoes and chopped onions at 325 for 2 hours then added carrots for and additional hour. They brown themselves. This was absolutely delicious. When it was done cooking I skimmed off fat and added flour water in the pan over the stove, it made the best gravy ever! Served with mashed potates. Soooo easy to make! I will make these over and over, good comfort food!!!

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
5 Stars!!! Awesome receipe, love the flavors! My roast was just under 3 lbs and only took 2 hours to cook. I cooked it to 160 degress but will do to 150 next time, but it was still awesome! I doubled rub seasoning and sauce seasoning. I put a little water in bottom of roasting pan which made for an awesome base for a dark brown and tangy gravy I made when it was done. I started basting with sauce after first 1/2 hour and did it several times. Will make this over and over!!!

Pear and Blue Cheese Pastry Triangles

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
These were awesome! I ended up putting all ingredients into each square and folding them into a triangle and sealed the edges so there would be more filling inside, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and they were out of this world!!!

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
Awesome Recipe! I've been looking for a good Spanish Rice recipe and am so happy I found this. I did add just under a 1/2 cup of frozen corn, otherwise did everything exactly as written. This is the BEST spanish rice ever!!! I did find that I had to add about 1 cup extra Chicken broth at the end. Try this, you won't be disappointed!

Chicken Asparagus Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
Awesome! Modified to my liking. Instead of provolone I put lots of crumbled blue-cheese inside. 1/2 tsp lemon juice, no zest. 1 tsp dijon mustard (didn't need much with all the blue cheese flavoring). Used 1/4 cup mayo and 1/4 cup sour cream, added 1/4 tsp garlic salt and some chopped green onion to sauce. Did not pre-cook asparagus. Spread some sauce inside and on top. Sprinkled crushed corn flakes on top. Baked at 425 for about 40 minutes. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! My picky teenage daughter even liked it. Will make again and again!!

Bacon Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Good starting base. I put down a layer of potatoes in the pan, then put a layer of bacon, shredded cheddar and chopped green onion then repeated the layer again. After 2nd layer, I topped with more potatoes and then poured white sauce over potatoes and covered and cooked 75 minutes. Uncovered, added another layer of cheddard and some crushed corn flake cereal on the top, cooked for 10 more minutes then broiled on low for 5 - 8 minutes. For the sauce I put in a 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp garlic salt for more flavor. These came out absolutely delishes. This will be a staple at my house. AWESOME!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
The BEST breakfast casserole I've ever had. The flavor is absolutely awesome. For the sake of simplicity I added green onions instead of a chopped white onion. Next time I think I'll add a little white pepper for some heat. For the last 5 mins. I sprinkled some cheddar on top and broiled for a few mins which made for a nice topping.

Mary's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
This is by far the best meatloaf I have ever had in my life. I have been trying to "tweek" my meatloaf recipe for years but have never been satisfied. I followed the recipe to the letter with the exception of adding a small portion of sauteed green peppers. Everybody that ate this said it was the best meatloaf I ever made. I will never make meatloaf any other way!!!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!!!

London Broil for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
I made this recipe yesterday. I made the recipe exactly as it reads and didn't like it at all. It had an extremely strange flavor and smell, don't think the spices go well with this. This is the first time I have ever given a recipe one star. Will not make this again.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
These were awesome!! I added a few slices of bacon and green onion for more flavor. Eliminated the cayenne pepper because I preferred not to use it. Will make these again and again!!! Loved the tip of slicing a little piece off the top so they don't roll around and put melted butter on mushroom so they don't dry out.

Ham 'n' Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
This recipe was pretty good. I did not use green peppers just because I don't care for them. I did not care for the texture the american cheese gave, or the flavor. Would use a different cheese next time, maybe cheddar. Would say this was good, not great.

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
I followed the recipe to the letter but somehow the alfredo sauce was "gritty" don't know what went wrong, I've made lots of sauces and never had that happen. Didn't think the flavor was that great. I won't make this again.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
This was good. I just don't think Chicken & Dumplings is my kind of dish. But for those who like it...it is a very good recipe. I added carrots as other suggested and felt that they really took over the flavor of the whole dish...wouldn't suggest doing that unless you want that to be what I felt was the primary flavor of the dish.

Amazing Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
"Amazing" is right! Must use this in combination with the recipe "Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon" recipe from this website. On Chix recipe, first browned Chix in EVOO (no flour), then slit them in the middle, then stuffed them. Must add some garlic salt and salt and pepper to chix and sauce. For Stuffing, used 1/2 cup blue cheese and then some cream cheese. Also eliminated fatty bacon in chix recipe in place of the sauce. Also used 1/2 and 1/2 for sauce instead of heavy cream. Trust me, this is one of the best meals I have EVER made!!! I will make it over and over!!! Sooooo flavorful with this sauce and chicken combined. Poured sauce over cooked egg noodles and on the chicken...it's to die for!!!

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
As mentioned in my original review...Must use the Amazing Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce" recipe from this site. It will help with the "dryness" reviewers keep mentioning. It's Awesome! WOW! Awesome! READ ON- THE SAUCE I USED IS A MUST!! I used 1/2 cup blue cheese, then some cream cheese. Also browned chix a little (no flour, only EVOO)..then slit a pocket in them and stuffed them...then closed with toothpicks...worked out perfectly! Also used a little garlic salt and salt and pepper. DEFINITELY needs a drizzle of sauce as suggested by others. I used the "Amazing Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce" recipe from this website...all I can say is UNBELIEVABLE. I can't even imagine this recipe working without that sauce. As a matter of fact, I eliminated the fatty bacon to compensate for the sauce. Also used 1/2 and 1/2 for the sauce instead of heavy cream, and again added a little garlic salt. No need to be adding sauteed onions or mushrooms if you spruce up with some garlic and/or garlic salt, the Sauce adds all the extra flavor this needs. I put the sauce on cooked Egg noodles and over the chicken. I will make this over and over!!!
