Luscious Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
I have been making a version of this recipe for about 10 years. Most times I cook my own potatoes & carrots and add canned sweet baby peas. I usually use left over store rotissire chicken (quick-less cooking and cleaning). Sometimes I've used 1 can creamed chicken & 1 can creamm of mushroom for a different flavor. I have even served this to guests and no one believed it was canned soup for the gravy.

Autumn Pork Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
My first time posting, this was very good, thou I added garlic pepper and cut up potatoes, and used low fat chicken broth as no wine in house . With applesauce on the side this was just delicious, like comfort food.

Garden Stuffed Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
Made these tonight, very good. I added grated baby carrots for extra veggie, used 1/2 ranch & 1/2 parmesan peppercorn dressings-both lite, subbed butter cooking spray on skins. When done cooking I added a little butter (promise) to top of each as I knew my hubby would think a little too dry. The skins were nice and cruncy but mixture needed a little more moisture. Next time I'll add a little milk to mixture.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
I had 16oz pkg frozen strawberries, used low fat vanilla yogurt and added 1/2 c (for extra strawberries), 1/2 c splenda, added 2 bananas (one frozen) came out VERY creamy and yummy and healthy!!! If you really like strawberry flavor only use 1 banana, hubby liked both ways. Looking forward to having on a hot summer night!!! Thank you for great idea.

Caramelized Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2014
Very good, though I didn't use the cream, too many calories; I pealed and chopped 3 small potatoes and let them cook with the squash, once blended it has a very creamy texture. Used garlic black pepper as no white in house.

Sweet Kielbasa

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
Made this tonight, used turkey kielbasa and added diced zucchini and slivered carrots for a full healthier meal-very tasty over rice. The sauce never thickened but okay as had plenty to pour over the rice!!

Corn Chowder IV

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
I have been making this recipe for about a year. Very good!! I do add extra potato and can of kernel corn (I crush some to get the corn juices in the broth). I use lite 3 cheese mexican cheese - my first time I made without the cheese, but it definately adds flavor and a little thicker. A trick I got from a magazine-if you have used corn cobs, add to the potatos while cooking and remove and scrape kernels into pot before adding rest of ingredients-did this last summer and the flavor was very corny. No pun intended.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Followed advice to brown tips in onion (added green peppers for add'l veggie) and ended up saving about 15-20 minutes as got idea to combine ingredients in pan after tips were browned, used onion-mushroom dry soup (had on hand) and 1/4 c beef broth combined with water, added few twists of garlic pepper mill and simmered about 15 minutes. Hubby raved "very tender and flavorful". Great basis!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
Only gave 4 stars as I have a version of this recipe from a magazine, uses jellied cranberry sauce and only 1/2 c sugar and 1/2 c juice, and only 2 tbls cornsratch & water. I added thinly sliced carrots for a veggie. I didn't use any salt. VERRRRY TASTY-sauce great over mashed potatoes. Think the recipe with less sugar is very good and no need to add extra.

Cheater Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
I have been making pot pies using soup for MANY years. I mix 1 can healthy request cream of chicken and 1 of cream of mushroom with a little 1% milk and heat in pan, add a little pepper, then pour over the chicken and veggies. Usually use 1 full breast cut into pieces from a store cooked roaster chicken. I use the already prepared pie crust, always tasty and filling.

Banana Cake Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
I made these tonight, used a store made marble pound cake - neither hubby or myself liked them. After eating one, I thought may be good with peanut butter instead of banana, but don't think I'll try these again.
