Deer Soup with Cream of Mushroom and Celery

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
My husband & I live on deer meat & fish, so I thought this would be another way of using deer. I usually don't rate something bad, but am afraid I'm going to have to. It was very watery. The meats were very mealy & overcooked. Very bland & ugly soup. I added some black pepper * dried parsley in hopes of adding some flavor, but no luck. Sorry but I won' be making again. I have posted a picture.

Creamy Pheasant and Noodle

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
I make something similar to this often. My husband hunts pheasant. They are getting scarce now so I used Rock Cornish Game Hens this time. I left them whole, as I don't like the meat masserated from cooking so long. We like more texture. I cooked 4 hours & the meat was falling off the bone & the carrots were tender crisp & not mushy. I also sprinkled the tops of hens with Montreal chicken seasoning. Add so much more flavor. I really liked this recipe overall.

Crabmeat and Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
This is another recipe that should have never happened! It had too much oregano in it & leaves an aftertaste. If you are hungry, don't try this one as it is not a full bodied soup. Guess we will eat pizza today. Sorry! It also smells like ...well you don't want to know! Hubby wants it out of the house. It isn't pretty either.

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
I liked the crunch & the flavor of the cereal in these. However, being one who makes candies alot, if I make again, I would add some paraffin so they don't melt in your hands & maybe a little more peanut butter for flavor.

My Mom's Raised Doughnuts

If these don't rise for you like they should, either your yeast is bad or something else you are doing wrong. Please don't blame the recipe & rate it down because of your errors! Also, if the bread dough was super sweet like some are wanting, when you put the glaze on, it would be so sweet, you couldn't eat it. Try a store bought doughnut without icing. No difference. And just because you grew up in a bakery, doesn't mean YOU can bake. I grew up with my father as a rock mason, but I can't lay rock!

Garlic Chicken Sausage and Summer Vegetable Saute

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
I made this today & I have to say that I have become a fan of Al Fresco Chicken Sausages.. It was really good. I used red bells instead. I thought it gave it more color & was cheaper. I also used the Al Fresco Dried Tomato & Basil Sausages. Never found the garlic type. Then I served it on dried tomato polenta & paired it with fresh roasted asparagus & onions.

I thought this was very good. I'm not a fan of cous-cous though
