Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
I did not care for this recipe. I thought it was very bland. The gravy was ok, but the meat didn't have much flavor. The skin also didn't get that crispy.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
FANTASTIC! I used 1/2 granny smith apples, and 1/2 Jonagold apples, all organic. I cheated and used a store bought crust but otherwise followed the recipe exactly.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I'm only giving this 3 stars because it tasted ok. 10 hours is WAY too long for this chicken. It fell apart too much and we were picking bones out of our food. The foil balls did not work to get the chicken crispy on the outside so the skin was a slimy mess. Next time, its going in the oven.

This was great! I added some worstershire sauce, and a dash of hot sauce for some added kick, otherwise great recipe!

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
Excellent! I marinated them in a bit a balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt & pepper for a few hours before I put them on the grill. I also dressed the bread with a sundried tomato mayonnaise.

Ratatouille Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
This was very good. I would have given it 5 stars but it needed much more sauce! It came out a bit dry. The canned tomatoes just wasn't enough. I will add some extra tomato sauce next time. Otherwise, it was great!

Gary's Turkey Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
These were great! The only thing I did differently was bake these in the oven. After I rolled them, I put them on a baking sheet, brushed them with some vegetable oil lightly and sprinkled a little more cheese on top. Baked them at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. It made them a little more crispy :) P.S. These taste even better the next day nuked in the microwave!!

Mushroom and Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
Very good! The only thing I did differently was bake it a little bit more after I put the cheese on as opposed to just "letting it melt" to really get it gooey!

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
This was my first time making crabcakes ever from scratch, and I was so pleased with the result...and hubby loved them!!! I did make some alterations based on other reviews though. I added about 1/2 cup mayonnaise, little more bay seasoning for some added kick, and I didn't saute the onions (to save time & it didn't disrupt the flavor at all). I also used low fat mayo & baked these at 375 degrees 15 minutes each side (much healthier this way!)

Cashew Chicken with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
This was very simple to make & served it over white rice. I added more soy sauce & hot sauce to the mix though for more flavor to suit my taste buds.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
Fantastic!! I always made baked ziti with ricotta cheese, so I was VERY skeptical about making this with sour cream. To my surprise, the sour cream made it very creamy & a great flavor! Hubby agrees too, and is a keeper for sure!!

Veggie Lasagna Florentine

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
I was skeptical at first because I always add some kind of ground beef or sausage to my lasagna, but hubby and I are trying to eat less meat so I figured I'd give this a try...and wow!! So much flavor you don't miss the meat in it. I doubled up on the veggies in this recipe & added a small package of munster cheese for some extra "kick" and flavor. A little work to make this, but worth it!!

Award Winning Chili

This was great! I omitted the celery & carrots, & added cayenne pepper, and more chili powder for some added kick. The steak sauce added a nice flavor. I love trying new chili recipes, and this is a keeper for sure!

Spaghetti Sauce II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
this was great, hubby gobbled it up! spaghetti sauce recipes are so versatile and this is a great starter and then add more seasonings depending on your taste buds. I did substitute one can of tomato paste for a can of tomato sauce like someone else suggested.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This was sooooo super easy & tasted wonderful! I used Jack Daniels BBQ sauce, and I shredded up the chicken when it was almost done. While I had the chicken out shredding it up, I thickened the sauce with some cornstarch. I served this over a baked potato with a side dish of buttered corn. Great meal!!

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
This meal was so easy to prepare and tasted so wonderful! I took some of the advice from the previous posts and used 2 cans of tomato, and 2 cans of cream of mushroom for extra sauce and I served the dish over egg noodles. This was real comfort food and a hearty meal! A+++
