Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2015
I made this tonight for dinner. Made as directed except added chicken broth instead of water and because I didn't like the yellow color I added about a teaspoon of Kitchen Bouquet to add a browner color. I used one container of country biscuits and I can't imagine getting two into my large crockpot. I tore the biscuits into smaller pieces about 6 per biscuit and placed them on top the torn meat. I used 4 chicken breasts which were quite large. It made a big batch could easily have served 6 to 8 people.

Truly Delicious Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: May 11, 2013
I love Brussels sprouts but neither me or my husband liked this recipe. My favorite way to fix Brussels sprouts is to simmer them until tender and top with buttered bread crumbs.

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Made this Christmas Day. They were easy to do and delicious. Family loved them. Skipped the lemon water. Used three gala apples because I'm not fond of Granny Smith apples. Used 3/4 cup brown sugar and was plenty sweet enough. Brushed edges with a bit of beaten egg before sealing with a fork and even though I added quite a bit of filling they only oozed very little. They puffed up nicely and turned a beautiful golden brown. I will make them again.

Bacon and Egg Breakfast Tarts

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
I have made these for years but use ready made large size biscuits that you separate in three layers and put into muffin tins Other wise they are the same. I will try the pie crust and see which I like better. Always a hit.

These are adorable and go together pretty fast. Instead of sliced almonds which break easily I used chocolate chips for ears and piped on a bit of pink decorating icing along with a pink dot for nose. And white eyes. Try to get some nice big stemmed cherries for the body. I got two big jars from Costco.
