South Carolina Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Whoa Nellie! Making sweet tea in an electric coffee maker just aint raiht. For one, it'll taste like coffee. What you need is 8 individual Lipton or Tetley orange pekoe/black teabags. Boil water in a 2 qt pot, and then put the teabags in the pot to steep for about 15 mins. Then put 1 1/2 cup sugar in a gallon pitcher (not a glass one), remove the teabags from the pot, and pour the tea into the pitcher, and stir until the sugar melts. Add a cup of ice, let it it melt, and then fill the rest of the pitcher with cold water.

In-a-Pinch Ketchup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
I am allergic to onions, and as far as I've been able to determine, EVERY single commercial manufacturer of ketchup includes onion powder or ambiguous "spices" in their ingredient list. I was thrilled when my sister sent me this recipe--I just left out the onion powder, and voila, ketchup I could actually eat!

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I don't typically take the time to review things unless they're completely horrible or absolutely fabulous. This bread definitely belongs in the latter category. I've had a bread machine for years, and would occasionally buy a box of country white mix. Once I found this recipe though, I was hooked, and I've made this recipe at least a dozen times. I love it and my family loves it. Try eating toasted with apricot preserves. Great stuff!

Veggie Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
My whole family (including my 2-year-old!) loved this recipe. I used all ingredients as listed; however, I did rinse and drain off the ice from the frozen vegetables. I think that that may have been what contributed to another reviewer's soupy consistency. (And I didn't add water or milk to the mushroom soup.) Serve this up with a warm, crusty bread, and dinner's complete.
