Easy Sausage Pizza by Johnsonville®

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2013
This was so good! I made a different version using alfredo sauce, Asiago cheese, mozzarella cheese and Johnsonville smoked sausage. It was PERFECTLY delicious! Creamy alfredo sauce goes so well with smoked sausage! In NY we call this a 'white pizza' because of the white colored sauce! Instead of alfredo sauce you could just using ricotta seasoned with salt, pepper and grated parmesan to taste. Then use it as the sauce for the pizza and add your toppings plus mozzarella!

Harvest Pumpkin-Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2013
This is a very good cookie! I love that these cookies are so light and soft. And I love the bright pumpkin color and flavor! I made them as written except I didn't use the walnuts or raisins because I wanted the pumpkin to shine through and it did! I also decreased the sugar slightly by only using 1/4 cup of the white sugar blend. But I used the full amount of the brown sugar blend. I added 1/2 tsp. allspice and I'm glad I did because it was perfect in this! As other reviewers have stated, these cookies don't spread out much but they puff up slightly. A very good cookie that tastes great warm or cold. Perfect with a cup of tea! Thank you Splenda!

Chiliville Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2013
This was good with a few tweaks! I thought it was a little sweet and needed more flavor so I added about 2 tsp. salt, and an extra tbls chili powder and an extra tsp. of cumin. I also let it simmer for 40 minutes instead of 20. This help to deepen the flavors. I served mine with shredded cheddar, sour cream and green onions on top. I also used this chili for chili fries...yum!

Asian Barbecue Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
This was just what I hoped it would be! Perfect Asian flavors with just a very slight amount of heat! I made this recipe as written except I didn't have hoisin sauce so I made my own using a recipe from the Internet. And I omitted the red pepper flakes because I'm very wimpy when it comes to spicy food. But I used the full amount of Sriracha sauce. I mixed the ingredients together, formed the patties and chilled it for about 4 hours before grilling so that the meat could soak in all the lovely flavors! These burgers were so moist and delicious! Thanks OC for this fabulous burger recipe that I will use often!

Beat and Bake Orange Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
My daughter asked me to make this cake for her birthday. Everyone loved it! I made it as written except I cut the recipe in half because I didn't want to make a layer cake. I still used the full amount of orange zest because other reviewers said it needed more orange flavor. The only other thing I changed was to add 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract. I didn't make the frosting, but used Cool Whip instead with some extra orange zest on top because I wanted to keep it light. This cake had the perfect amount of orange flavor! It was just what I hoped it would be...light and refreshing! Thank you Menling for a great easy cake recipe.

BBQ Bison Phyllo Bites

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
This was very good! It was my first time cooking with bison and I loved the hearty meat flavor! I was afraid that bison would taste gamey but was happy that it wasn't! It is just a stronger meat flavor than cow beef! I made the recipe as written except I didn't cook it for 12 hours. The meat was perfectly tender after 9 hours. And I added about 1/2 tsp of salt. I used about 3 cups of the leftover meat to make bison tacos by adding salsa, cumin, oregano and topping it with sour cream and cheddar cheese. The tacos were also very good! I still have another 2 cups of bison leftover, so I'll freeze it and use it next week to make bison pot pies! I can't wait!

Mediterranean Beef Meatball Kabob

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2013
This was a little bland and I even doubled the salt and added oregano! I also used milk instead of water. I think I would add 1 and 1/2 tsp. salt next time. And maybe use flavored breadcrumbs instead of plain.

Chipotle Cheeseburger

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2013
We loved these! Restaurant quality burgers at home! Very flavorful with just a slight bit of heat in the mayo. I think I will double the mayo dressing next time because it was only enough for 3 burgers! For the adobo seasoning it says 'to taste', but I don't want to taste raw ground beef. I used a pinch of adobo seasoning in the mayo and 1/2 tsp in the burger mixture! Great recipe Goya!

Roast Adobo Pork Loin

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2013
This is a 10 star recipe! I made it exactly as written except my roast was 2 1/2 lbs and I cooked it uncovered for 45 minutes. Then tented it with foil as written for 10 minutes. The roast was so very moist and so perfectly flavored! I dipped each sliced piece in the pan drippings before serving! Not spicy at all and with a slight hint of cinnamon. We totally loved this! I will be making this many more times in the near future!

GOYA® Easy Arroz con Pollo

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2013
This was very good for a quick meal! I tweaked it to suit our tastes! I used 3 boneless chicken breasts cut into strips. I doubled the olive oil using 1 Tbls. to brown the chicken and 1 Tbls. to sauté the veggies. I doubled the green pepper and used chicken broth instead of water. I used 3 cloves fresh garlic instead of jarred. I doubled the Spanish olives and the peas. And I cooked the peas with the rice instead of adding them raw on top at the end! The chicken was so tender and juicy with lots of flavor from the adobo and flavored yellow rice! I will definitely be making this more often!

Herdez Beer Bread and Jelly

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2013
OMG!!! This was so VERY good! I've been looking for a really good beer bread recipe for a LONG time and I found it with this one! I doubled the Herdez cooking sauce as Paula suggested to get more heat and it was great! Not spicy at all, just a slight bit of heat! I added 4 less tablespoons of beer because of the extra cooking sauce which made for the perfect few sips I wanted while this was baking! I loved how tall this baked up! And the flavor was lovely...nice hint of beer, slightly sweet and slightly spicy! I will be making this ALOT! I'm adding my photo! Thanks Paula!

HERDEZ® Drowned Beef Sandwich with Chipotle Sauce (Torta Ahogada)

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2013
This was VERY good! I used the Herdez Red Guajillo Chile sauce because that's what I had in the house! But I know it would be good just as written! I've tried 2 of these sauces and have been very pleased with them! It's a nice bold taste with just the perfect seasonings! Very authentic Mexican flavors! This sandwich was so quick and easy to make! Thanks for a great recipe Brian!

Eggs on the Grill

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2013
This worked out very nicely! Its a great way to make eggs while camping! The only problem I had was that the eggs stuck to the muffin pan even though I oiled it! I grilled mine on the lowest setting(450 degrees on the grill thermometer) because I was worried my muffin pan would burn. It didn't burn at that temp. and the eggs were perfectly cooked in 5 minutes. I made the eggs a few ways! Scrambled with bacon bits and cheese... sunnyside up with cheese and a slice of ham forming a cup... and just regular sunnyside up with cheese. The scrambled eggs bubbled over the edge of the pan for some reason, so I won't do that next time. The ham one was my favorite!

Campfire Banana Splits

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
I tried this 2 ways! I made one with sliced almonds and one with peanut butter! Both were equally delicious! I used regular sized marshmallows and just cut them into pieces with kitchen shears! I placed them in first and then added mini chocolate chips and almonds or peanut butter on top because I didn't want the marshmallows to stick to the tin foil. This was so good! I think I'll make them many more times and add different topping! You can't go wrong with this recipe!

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: May 14, 2013
This was very tasty! Nice strong flavors from the steak seasoning with a slight tang from the balsamic vinegar. I used 1 packet of 'McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak seasoning' and marinated for 12 hours. And I used boneless pork chops instead of a whole pork loin. I thickened the sauce by making a slurry using 2 Tbls. dry red wine with 2 Tbls. cornstarch. It worked perfectly and I think it needed it. The red wine complemented the sauce perfectly. I think I'll try this recipe with chicken cutlets next time! A great easy recipe!

Apple and Feta Pan Fried Pizzas

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
I loved this! All the flavors work so well together...from the sharpness of the red onions to the salty feta with the sweet apples and herby thyme ontop of the hearty fried dough! I made it as written except I added 1 tsp. of sugar to apples as I sauteed them. And I used store bought pizza dough. Frying the dough is a must because it gives a totally different flavor to the dough. This is a nice light lunch or snack.

Merry Mango Sauza®-Rita

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
This was very good! I made it as written using equal parts fresh lemon juice, water and sugar for the sour mix. I chilled the cocktail in the freezer for about an hour, then poured it over ice! All the flavors blend well together. This drink is not too strong! I don't think you can go wrong with Sauza! Very refreshing!

Rosemary Lemon Margarita

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
This was my first time using Sauza tequila and I loved it! To me, it has very herbaceous notes. I made this recipe using thyme instead of rosemary because I'm just not a fan of that herb. But even if you omitted the herb it was still be a very flavorful drink using Sauza tequila! I also only used 1/2 the amount of lemon because I didn't want it to be to tart. I doubled the tequila because it was too weak as written...and I'm not a 'strong drink' type of person! I am very happy with this brand of tequila and I can't wait to try more cocktails using Sauza!

Morning Terrace Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
This was very good! I used Johnsonville chicken chipolte fully cooked sausage. My kids like scrambled eggs and will never eat sunnyside-up eggs so I whisked the eggs before adding them ontop and pushed them into the topping ingredients with a fork making sure all the eggs seeped in. I used mozzarella instead of fontina and green onion instead of chives! I baked this in homemade semolina bread rounds. We all loved this and had it for dinner instead of breakfast!

Cream Cheese Mints

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
I made this recipe as other members suggested by using 4 oz. of cream cheese. I also increased the peppermint extract to a heaping 1/2 tsp. I didn't have powdered sugar so I used regular sugar which made my mints very grainy, but that's not the fault of the recipe! My mints were very sticky and hard to work with but the flavor was very good! Similar to a 'York Peppermint Pattie' candy, just without the chocolate coating! I didn't add any food coloring. I will have to try it again using powdered sugar and adding more powdered sugar until it's less sticky!
