Lots to Learn
I never even knew how to turn on a computer until my daughter showed me a recipe on in April of 2008... I'm a 51 year old wife and mother of  two daughters... so during the personal computer boom, I was busy being a stay at home Mom. I never had much need for a computer!  But that ALL changed as soon as I got a glimpse of this site! I was always very into cooking, so I was immediatley fasinated by what I saw on AR! It was such a thrill to be able to read comments on recipes and to chat with other recipe obsessed cooks! But I had a huge handicap! I was not computer savvy! I finally figured out how to turn ON the computer but I didn't know how to cut & paste, or upload photos or do any other important computer stuff! But all the wonderful ladies on the AR chatboard helped me with that! This blog is a shout out to them!
Lots of  Helpers
'SunnyByrd'<  was one of the first AR members I met. She helped me to not feel guilty about being on AR so much! You see my hubby was not happy about me spending so much time on the computer! Thats the day he got the name Mr. Lillian on the AR chatboard! He has since gotten over my recipe site obession because of ALL the great food he's been eating! Thank you SunnyByrd!
'Cookies' was the member who taught me how to take better food photos with my inexspensive little Kodak Easy Share camera. She shared her secrets with me about using the close-up setting and told me to NOT use the flash, but to use a lamp or natural lighting.
Thank you Cookies!
Cheesecakemama taught me how to make my computer run faster by tossing my cookies...or was it deleting cookies? Thank you Cheesecakemama!
Wanabechef taught me how to cut & paste, after she found out that I was trying to type every letter, number and symbol, from every URL address, that I was trying to go to. Cut & paste is soooo much easier because some URL addresses have so many letters, numbers and symbols that don't make sense! But I forgot who the member was that taught me what a URL address was! Well anyway....Thank you Wanabechef!
 Lots of Thanks...
Thank you to all the members that taught me how to make cute hearts and smiliey faces...and who taught me chatboard shorthand like DH (Dear Husband) and DD (Dear Daughter) and PITA ...which is what you sometimes see in the same sentence with DH and DD.
Also, Thank you to all the fun members that I used to chat with daily...Lovetohost, Mykidsmom, Mrs. Williams, Keni, Virginiamom, Smitty, Sueb, Elle, Chicagocookie...and soooo many others!
And Thanks,, for starting me on a rode to meeting great cooks with AMAZING recipes from the U.S and all around the world!
P.S. - This is another first for first blog ever! Thank you again Allrecipes, for helping me accomplish so many firsts!
This was my original Allrecipes icon when I first joined in 2008.

Hey Lillian, great to see a blog from you. Sadly, we have lost so many on the boards.

Hi...are you Scottdog or Somethingdifferent? lol! Its been awhile, so you'll have to forgive me! Yes, I noticed that lots of the members that I knew are not on the boards anymore! It was a VERY fun bunch! I miss the games we used to play! What was the name of the game where we would all find funny recipes to match the theme? Then we'd post them in the game thread! We would play it once a week...I think on Friday or Saturday night?

I am also technically challenged and do not really understand what a thread is -can you now by my mentor? TIA - I do know that one but what's a PITA? LOL (oh another one I know - ha, ha.)

Thank you Doug! =) Hi Christine!!! Its been a long time! I'm glad you posted a I can go to your profile page to see what you've been up to! We need a 'member search' feature on AR. LOL Animal lover! I feel your pain! A 'thread' is what we are in right now! Its a series of comments posted under a certain topic. And a 'PITA' is a 'pain in the _ _ _'!

About Me
I've been cooking since I've been married which is since 1989. I LOVE TO TRY NEW RECIPES! I also love to have dinner parties with family and friends! Creating new recipes is something I also enjoy! I have many of my recipe creations listed in my recipe box. I also love to photograph and review every recipe I try from this site! Its become one of my favorite things to do...aside from reading recipes and looking at other members food photos! Update 1/25/12 Come visit my new blog at...
My favorite things to cook
Since discovering this site, I've tried soooo many different things! I love Asian cooking, Middle Eastern food and I recently discovered Filipino cuisine. My other favorites are Mexican and Italian of course! =)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm Italian so I make the basics (always from scratch) like meatballs, manicotti, picatta, alfredo, etc.
My cooking triumphs
OH! Way too many to list of course! ;)
My cooking tragedies
OH! Way to many of these also!
