Chantal's New York Cheesecake

followed up with a mixture of 3/4 C sour cream (room temp), 1/4 C sugar, and 1/2 tsp of vanilla and cracking isn't noticed at all! Just spread it on top a couple hours before you want to serve it and refrigerate. Also cut back flour to 2 Tbs for a denser cake. Everyone loved it. Definitely the dessert hit of the night. Too Much Chocolate Cake

this was pretty good! i made it for my mom's birthday. everyone really liked it. i only got to try one piece! will definitely make it again. great shortcut if you're not up to making a cake from scratch.

Frosted Banana Bars

these are awesome! made them in a 9x13, 30 minutes was perfect. added 1/2 tsp cinnamon, used 1/2 C brown sugar instead of white, if you're unsure, use extra banana! i used 3 medium sized ones and it was perfect. frosted with vanilla frosting and dusted with cinnamon sugar. turned out super delicious. can't wait to make them again :) thank you!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

this banana bread tasted great. used butter instead of shortening though. only thing is, be careful not to overfill your loaf pan. i found that at the temperature it was baked, the middle ended up undercooked. the other loaf (made in a shallow silicon pan) was amazing start to finish.

Banana Berry Smoothie II

It was a good smoothie that will allow for lots of variation, but following the exact recipe won't give you anything special. I used soymilk and I also added 3 ice cubes and a little bit of peanut butter after tasting the final product.

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Made these in cupcake form. Really good, but they definitely won't trick anyone looking for a real chocolate cake fix. All my vegan and vegetarian friends loved them at a party. I'll make these again for sure.

Miso Soup

I live in an area with lots of Japanese food restaurants and this matches the soup they serve perfectly. Defintely required some hunting around the grocery store, but well worth the time. Really delicious.

Goes really well with Mini Cheesecakes but I think I may like a basic graham cracker crust better. Great if you'd like a change of pace from that though!

Cajun Crab Soup

Amazing soup. I'm not really that into crab but I definitely enjoyed it. For those on a budget, I used the cheapest refrigerated crab I found ($5.99 for 8oz as opposed to $18 fresh) and it still tasted amazing (including to those who enjoy crab more than myself!) Only changes I made: I added a tablespoon and half of extra flour for added thickness and I accidentally spilled a lot of extra cayenne in. I simply added a little extra chicken broth to balance it out. Tasted great and a VERY forgiving recipe. Thank you!

The Best Banana Pudding

i liked it and everyone else enjoyed it, but i'm not sure it was anything special. i followed the directions exactly (but with 4 very large bananas). put it together in a 13x9 pan. roughly crushed nilla wafers on the bottom, layer of bananas, layer of pudding, topped with a bit of crushed wafers. very good, thank you!

Mini Cheesecakes

i made these using a tsp of flour (to firm them up a bit) and a bit of extra vanilla. i also used the Vanilla Wafer Crust by Carol, which was really easy, (just use back of spoon to press down into cupcake tins). I made one batch for 15 people and everybody absolutely loved them. there were even a couple leftovers for the next day. (i topped some with seedless strawberry jelly, and some with chocolate shavings, both were great) some good news: i also totally overcooked my first batch; they were brown by the time they came out, but they tasted just as great as the properly baked 2nd batch :)
