Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
Very tasty! The trick to the frosting is a)MELT the butter all the way, not just softened; and b) make right before you frost--don't let them sit out. I used a little extra honey as well.

Poppy Seed Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
I changed some measurements: 1/4 cup of sugar 1 lemon's worth of rind instead of measuring it out Most of the measurements I eyeballed. The bread machine I used is for a 1.5 lb loaf of bread. The bread quantity seemed to be about 1.5 lb loaf. The bread turned out light, but in my opinion, not nearly sweet enough. Tasters told me that it tastes like lemon poppy seed bread should, but I expected and wanted a sweeter taste. It tastes like regular bread with slight lemony taste. Perhaps it would be improved with a stronger lemon flavor? Something about this bread is missing and I would probably not make it again in favor of muffins or some sweeter bread of similar type. I have not tried it with the Nutmeg Butter yet.

Blueberry Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
I did not care for these! They were nearly not sweet enough, for one. For another, the dough is far too sticky, you won't be able to cut it. I ended up putting little gloops of it on the sheet as though they were cookies. If you do make these, I suggest upping the sugar content, and greasing the cookie sheets, as well as using something more durable than a rubber scraper, as mine split in half, the dough was so tough.

Sunflower Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
I am not a big fan of chicken salad, but I loved this. We made some small changes: red grapes, Miracle Whip instead of mayo, doubled the portion of grapes, and sliced the cheese super small so there wouldn't be giant chunks. For an extra treat, have on croissants!
