About this Cook
I am a fourth generation native to Arizona, and anyone who knows anything about Arizona knows how unusual that is! I have been doing daycare in my home for about 25 years, and now am babysitting my four grandchildren.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Mexican food and we all enjoy simple comfort foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family tradition is every year our entire family; aunts, cousins, grandparents, all the take day off from work on Dec 16th and bake Christmas cookies as huge group to honor my nephew who died of SIDS on that date. We started it as a way of coping with a tragic anniversary and now it has become a very fun tradition we look forward to every year.
My cooking triumphs
My greatest cooking triumph isn't a dish, but the fact that all three of my daughters are excellent cooks, and I'd like to think I've had something to do with that.
My cooking tragedies
One of my worst cooking disasters was when I was first married (30 years ago) I invited my parents and my in-laws to dinner and I made a potato casserole that required 2 cloves of garlic, not knowing better, I added 2 ENTIRE heads of garlic! It smelled wonderful while cooking but of course was completely inedible, to say the least.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing
This morning I scaled this recipe down to 15 servings and marinated some pounded chicken breasts in half of the dressing all day. (I reserved the other half of the dressing for salad.)Come dinner time we threw the chicken on the barbeque, cooked one side, turned the chicken over on the grill and sprinkled feta cheese over top of chicken while browning the second side. So yummy! We served it with a green salad with the reserved other half of the dressing.

Sesame Noodles
We loved these noodles, and we love spice, however I'm not sure if it was the brand of chilli sauce I used (from the Asian supermarket) but my noodles were SUPER spicy! I also served stir fried vegatables with our meal so we just mixed the two together on our plate to balance out the spiciness. We will make again, but I'll just use less chili sauce.

Chicken Puffs
For those of you having trouble with these being a mess, try making them in mini or even regular muffin tins. Just press the cut up cresent dough down into the muffin tin, lining it like a pie crust, fill with filling, and sprinkle top with cheese. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes or so
