Cream Cheese Frosting with Brown Butter and Bourbon

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2014
This is absolutely delicious! I paired this frosting with "Sam's Famous Carrot Cake" recipe and voila... the perfect match. If it's a little too sweet for your liking, apply less sugar or less frosting to your cake! Simply delightful!

No Bake Cookies V

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2013
I tried this recipe twice... the first time I didn't boil it long enough because it was too runny coming off the spoon, so I put it all back into the pan for a couple more minutes, got it at the perfect consistency and it came out delicious, perfect no-bake. I thought that the next time I would listen to the instructions and continue boiling for one minute before taking it off the heat, so I did. This time it came out incredibly dry. I followed instructions exactly to the "T" this time around. Just kind of frustrating! The cookies are fabulous if you can get them to the correct consistency everytime, but the recipe does definitely seem a little too finicky. Which is the reason I'm giving this a 4 star instead of a 5. I'll keep trying and find that perfect batch again soon! :)

Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
Oh boy, I don't even know where to begin with this casserole. I think this is one of the best thing I've ever laid my taste buds on. I think that my taste buds were even drooling.. haha!! I made this with meatloaf and corn on the cob. I followed the recipe to the exact, didn't change one thing. This casserole also makes for awesome leftovers... I honestly think I liked the leftovers more then I liked it when it came fresh out of the oven. I think that the ingredients had time to marinate overnight, to make for a even tastier treat... and I honestly thought it couldn't get any better. Lol!! Loved it and will definitely make again, thank you!! :o) Happy cooking!

Texas Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
My family and I loved this recipe, although I did end up having to change it up a bit. I would suggest adding more cheese and chicken to the quesadillas. I did this and it tasted much better. I also added a little more seasoning to the chicken while I was cooking it. The barbeque sauce helped tremendously, but the blandness of the tortillas kind of took away from the strong tangy bbq taste. We also put some bbq sauce on the side for dipping... it was a major hit for my whole family.. even my young kids.. that's hard to come by nowadays. :o) Happy cooking!

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
My family and I really enjoyed this meatloaf... my husband and I have never really been big meatloaf fans, but this was exceptional! I made a couple minor changes, but other than that it was beyond my expectations. I don't really like the taste of all ground turkey, so I changed it too 1 lb ground turkey and 1 lb. ground beef. I then added some minced garlic to the mix, some onion, and sprinkled brown sugar on top of the ketchup. For me, the cooking time for the meatloaf was a little off. I ended up having to cook it for almost 2 hours, instead of the 1 hour that was recommended. I took it out at 1 hour and it was still luke warm in the middle and mushy, but this recipe still deserves 5 stars in my opinion. :o) Happy Cooking!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
This was such an awesome recipe. I wouldn't call it a soup though, more like a chowder. My husband has never had ham and potato soup before, where as I have. He is a potato kind of guy, but has never rant and raved so much about something I've made for dinner before with potatoes. He told me that this was the best thing that I had ever made and that I should make it more often. The only things I did differently was that I didn't peel my potatoes cause we love potato skin and I added extra chicken bouillion and an extra tablespoon of butter (with extra flour since I added extra butter). We just love our soup super tasty and rich. It was a hit for my whole family. I even brought some to the neighbor and she asked me for the recipe. She LOVED it!! GREAT RECIPE AND THANK YOU FOR ADDING A FAVORITE TO MY FAMILY'S DINNER. :o)

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
This was so soooo yummy and EASY! It was the first time I have ever made it and boy was I pleased with the outcome. I did a few things differently though. Instead of doing this in a crockpot I did it over the stove. I didn't have the time to cook it for 8 hours and instead it was done in three hours. I first added the spice packet, sugar, vinegar, pepper, and instead of doing all water I did half water and half apple juice. I then added the 3 lb. brisket and cooked it for about 2 1/2 hours before adding the veggies. Delious! I also added celery and red potatoes and cut the potatoes in half and left the skin on. My kids (ages 4 and 2) LOVED it! And it's pretty hard to get them to eat veggies. I can't wait for my husband to try it tomorrow for leftovers! I will definitely be making this again. :O)
