Richard's Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
Yum! This was an excellent recipe, and the sauce was SO good! The breasts were very juicy, and I would consider serving this dish to company. The only things I did differently were to add the onions, mushrooms, and rosemary, along with some garlic and salt, before adding the wine. I didn't measure, but probably used around a cup of wine. I also added some leftover flour mixture to the sauce to thicken it. I will be making this again and again! Thank you very much for this yummy recipe!

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
Wow! These were SO good! I have to admit to being nervous when I made these as I had never made rolls before, but they turned out perfect. So buttery, fluffy, and just plain good. They tasted better than the rolls I usually pick up from a local bakery at holiday time. I'll definitely be using this recipe instead from now on, much better taste! I highly recommend this recipe, even if you're nervous as I was. Just give it a try!

Marinated Broccoli

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
I loved how easy this recipe was. This is a really great marinade, which made the vegetables absolutely delicious. I added a little chopped onion, olives, and some sesame seeds to the basic recipe. Great!

Sesame Broccoli

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
This was an excellent recipe for broccoli, plus I love sesame seeds! The only thing I did differently was to saute the broccoli in a tablespoon or so of the olive oil for a few minutes as opposed to cooking the broccoli in water. I then added the sesame seeds, tossing with the broccoli, cooking a couple more minutes. I then removed from the heat and added the sugar, lemon juice and soy sauce. This made the recipe even easier, and eliminated a pan for clean-up. Thanks so much for the recipe!

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
Wow! These are unbelievably good. I followed the recipe exactly, except I added blueberries instead of currants or raisins. Delish! Much, much better than any scone I have ever made or purchased. Will definitely make these again (and again and again!)!

Fresh Green Chile Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
Oh, this was SO cheesy...just decadent! I made it exactly as the recipe is written, feta cheese and all. I love feta cheese! It didn't taste strange at all with the other cheeses and the green chile peppers. I highly recommend this recipe, and will make it again and again! Thanks so MUCH for the great recipe!

Passover Chocolate Torte

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
Yummy! I made this for Passover, and it was a huge hit! I had some almond flour (which is just ground almonds), so it made it SO very easy to make! I topped with Vanilla Glaze (this site), and it was perfect! Thank you VERY much for the great recipe...easy to make, and so delightful to eat!

Vanilla Glaze

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
This was so very, very good. Just easy, breezy to make. I did use a little more milk, but otherwise stuck to the exact recipe. I've served it over a chocolate torte, as well as scones I made. This is a great addition to my recipes, and I will use this again and again. Thanks so very much for the great recipe!

Carrot Parsnip Stir-Fry

Oh yum! This was SO good! I used olive oil instead of butter, with a dash of pepper. Made a beautiful looking dish (so colorful), that I will definitely make again. Thank you so much for the recipe!

Sticky Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
Yum! This was very good, and SO easy! I basted the chicken with the leftover sauce a couple of times during cooking, making sure to get all the sesame seeds on the chicken. This is definitely a keeper recipe that I will make again. I took the leftover chicken from dinner, cut into small pieces, and added chopped celery, some pecan pieces, and a little bit of mayo, making a wonderful chicken salad for the next day, too!

Carrot Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
Wonderful salad, both pleasing to the eye as well as the palate! I did substitute Splenda for the sugar, and used crushed pineapple as that is what I had on hand. This is definitely a recipe that I will use again and again. Thank you, Carol!

Texas Ranch Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
This was SO easy, and delicious! My husband loved it. I did salt and pepper the chicken, and marinate it in the ranch dressing for a couple of hours. I then followed the rest of the recipe as written. Very very good, and I will make again...often!

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
This was very good, and so easy. I didn't have any red enchilada sauce, and so used the green enchilada sauce I had on hand. For the cheese, I mixed Monterrey Jack cheese and Cheddar. Excellent! I can't wait to make this again, using the red enchilada sauce! Thanks for the great recipe!

Black Bean, Corn, and Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
This was really fantastic! I stayed true to the recipe except I used a can of whole kernel corn as I didn't have corn on the cob. Just the right amount of spiciness, plus I love the flavor from the feta cheese. Very, very good, and I will definitely make again and again. Thank you SO much for the great recipe!

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
I have made several recipes for tiramisu, but this is the best one BY FAR I have ever made. I like the fact that this one is sweeter than the others, plus I like the fact that you cook the egg...makes it just a little bit safer in my viewpoint. I did not have mascarpone cheese, so used the cream cheese/sour cream/whipping cream substitute used by LGIORGI on that review. Since my ladyfingers were hard, I made around 1 1/2 cups of strong coffee with a little Kahlua, soaking each ladyfinger for just a few seconds. If you use this method, do not soak too long or the ladyfingers will fall apart. Everything came out perfect. I impressed the heck out of my guests! :D Wonderful, wonderful recipe, which I will definitely make again, probably over the holidays. Thank you VERY MUCH for the great recipe!

Baked Chicken and Stuffing

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
I really loved this dish! My mom was visiting, and is now insisting I make this when she comes down over the Holidays! The only thing I did differently was to saute the chicken, which I had cut into cubes, in a small amount of olive oil just till no longer pink. Plus, I used a little more chicken broth than called for, but was otherwise true to the recipe. Excellent!

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
So easy and oh so good! Ten minutes before they were done, I tossed some chopped onion and minced garlic in with the potatoes. I also added some rosemary with the salt and pepper just because I love rosemary on potatoes! Excellent, simple, and quick to make; thanks for the great recipe!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
Absolutely the best steak marinade I have ever made. I followed to a T, and marinaded for 20 hours before grilling. So, so very good! I do recommend using a good quality balsamic vinegar as it is a must to get the best flavor. Definitely a keeper!

Slow-Cooked, Texas-Style Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
This is an awesome recipe that makes great barbecue sandwiches! I'm not sure why some reviewers meat burnt...I had so much juice with mine that I had to take quite a bit out! I used the juice I removed to make Yorkshire Pudding (Mort Tibble's recipe, this site) cause I love Yorkshire Pudding! The sauce with this recipe was sweet (which I like, by the way), but after adding it to the meat with the juice in the slow-cooker, it toned down the sweetness a lot. Next time I make this, I will probably add a little more brown sugar! I cooked this a full 24 hours, and it was just fantastic! Highly recommended!
