Penne Pasta with Veggies

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
Tweeked it a bit...but either way was good! No butter...only EVOO. Added mushrooms, omitted zucchini and broccoli. Used cherry tomatoes in place of sun-dried tomatoes. Also used Feta cheese instead of parmesan. Very light and healthy. Tasted even better! This is a winner!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2013
Thought I'd try it even though I hate boxed cake mixes. Unfortunately, even with all the doctoring, and fancy stuff added...it still tasted like a boxed cake mix.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2013
Wonderful recipe!! I'm not a meatloaf person, but this is amazing! I did substitute ranch seasoning for the onion mix. Turned out yummy!

Easy Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
This was a good base recipe. I added onions, pepper, milk in place of the water, and I only used 1 can of cream of chicken. I also added 8 oz. of cream cheese. The "sauce" was flavorful and creamy. I sprinkled the top with parmesan rather than cheddar. My family really enjoyed this dish. Thank you!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
These were okay. I made them exactly as the recipe stated and even used the frosting. Nothing special here, but they were extremely moist. To me it was a typical brownie. Very easy to make. You really can't go wrong.

Meatloaf Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: May 14, 2013
Good, simple recipe. Very flavorful. I used chicken burger instead of ground beef. It gave it more of that authentic cordon bleu flavor. Enjoy!

Imitation Crab Salad

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
Not impressed at all. TOO MUCH EGG! If you want an impressive egg salad, then this is it - just egg salad with a bit of crab mixed in. No one in my family cared for it.

Buttermilk Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
I found the batter to be runny and the pancakes to be off in taste. I followed the directions and didn't substitute anything. They were very filling, however. I probably won't make these again. Sorry.

Peanut Butter Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
I have been baking cakes for over 20 years. I wanted to try a new chocolate peanut butter cake, so I tried this. Let me say I was quite disappointed. I followed the directions exactly and I found the cake to be too dry and crumbly. I baked it for 20 minutes in a 9x13 pan. The thin peanut bitter layer needed something else and the frosting was too sweet and rich for this particular cake. It definitely overpowered the cake's flavor. One reviewer was right when saying you only need to eat a small piece because of the sweetness. (and I LOVE sweet!) I ended up refridgerating it overnight to see if that would help the dryness and it actually did. The cake is not nearly as crumbly and it's a bit denser than yesterday after I baked and frosted it. I doubt I will make this cake again, but thank you for the recipe just the same.

McCormick® Spiced Holiday Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
I made these over the weekend, as is. I didn't change anything and I thought they turned out great! Cooking time for my oven was at 350 for 9 minutes. You don't want them too brown, they'll taste burnt. My family enjoyed them!

Hoagie Bake

A very tasty and easy diner. I didn't use the eggs...no need to. Also I used pizza dough instead of the crescent rolls. My husband loved it!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Absolutely yummy! However, I didn't give it 5 stars because it was entirely too sweet. Next time I will add 1/2 cup white sugar instead of 1 cup. I also replaced the 1/4 cup of water with apple juice. Will definitely make this again!

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
Nice flavor. Family enjoyed. It didn't thicken up the way I had hoped but I will add more flour or cornstarch next time. I did follow the recipe exactly except I topped it with mashed potatoes instead of biscuits. Very nice winter meal. Will make again, thanks!

"Greek" Key Lime Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Not bad and very easy to make! Instead of vanilla flavored Greek yogurt, I used a key lime pie flavored Greek yogurt. I also added a bit more lime juice to enhance the lime flavor. Family enjoyed this light and refreshing dessert. Thank you!

Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
This WAS the best fudge frosting BEFORE I added the hot fudge topping. After I added it, the frosting tasted exactly like it came out of a can! My entire family was very disappointed.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
Very good muffin recipe! Takes just like you'd get at a resturant! I followed the recipe exactly EXCEPT for the bluberries (since I didn't have any on hand). Instead I used slice apples. What a hit! They were moist and had that wonderful crunchy topping. I also loved how big they got! Yum!!

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
I followed this recipe as written and I found it to be a bit too sweet. Next time I will cut the sugar in half and add a touch more ketchup. Overall, it's an excellent sauce for hot dogs. Will definitely make again! Thank you!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
If I could give this 10 stars I would! I have never had this moist of a cake before! I followed the recipe almost exactly except for the sugar in the cake. I added 2 cups of fine white sugar and 1/8 cup of brown sugar. I also added a teaspoon of lemon juice to the frosting. I ended up baking my cake an extra 20 minutes for a toal of 80 minutes at 275. I immediately put the hot cake into the freezer and left it there for approximately 1 hour. When I took it out, I frosted it it and my son and I sampled it. WOW! We both couldn't get enough! Thank you for a fool-proof, EASY & tasty recipe!!!

WOW! My family went crazy over these! I omitted the green pepper and sauteed the onions until soft and golden. Next time I'm going to try ham and shredded swiss cheese! YUM!
