I'm 23 and started cooking very early on, as both my parents worked a lot. They also both like to cook, mom bringing family recipes and dad creating and recreating dishes he's had around the world. Eating and cooking has always been a main social event in our family; it always brings us together so it has become one of my favorite things to do. I would love to one day be a stay-at-home mom and spend even more time in the kitchen.
I have to warn you all that I am not really a measure-things-out kind of girl - I do things by smell, taste, feel and appearance, but I do my best to guesstimate. Just about everything I cook is a little different every time - isn't that part of the fun?
My favorite things to cook
I love cheese, bread and chocolate! Brie breadbowls have to be my favorite, along with Medetteranean Stuffed Chicken modified from a recipe I found on this site. I also LOVE BBQ, but I am old fashioned - the grill is the man's domain- so I usually do slow-cooked BBQ.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies and candied nuts, without a doubt. We use my great grandma's old recipes & cookie press - so much fun! My Grandma's pizza recipe is also a huge hit during football season.
