My three Judges from Taste Testers Inc.
Sugar Cookie Baby Rattles
About this Cook
I live in southern Ontario with my husband and two sons, Adam (6years old) and Cody (4 years old). I enjoy baking thrifty style, so my meals have to be cheap to make.
My favorite things to cook
anything sweet or filling enough that my husband complains of eating too much- mostly sweet treats, no rhyme or reason, just love baking cookies, cakes, pastries, candy, anything sweet!
My favorite family cooking traditions
strudel bakes at my Dad's house; My Nana (my dad's mom) was born in Austria, but came over with her parents, brother and sister on one of the boats that landed in Ellis Island recipe thats been passed down through many generations starting in Austria
My cooking triumphs
My sugar cookie baby rattles (see my photos) and my perfected chocolate cake and brownies recipe. Also I recently accomplished my Nana's rouladen recipe, without ever being given a recipe (posted a how-to on my blog). I can also do potato and sauerkraut strudel all by myself (blog how-to soon to come).
My cooking tragedies
burnt cookies all through childhood with my Dad's gas oven

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
I did as most suggested: adjusted milk, and used onion soup mix instead of an onion and to my family's taste, more filler. I couldn't believe how much they loved it! Even the next day, my 8 yr old was asking if we had any more of that "meat stuff with the red on it". Thank you, tangastar for satisfying my pickiest of eaters!

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken
A new family favorite! I stuff those suckers right full of cheese and use whatever breading I have on hand (season it). And I find it needs just a bit longer to cook so I boiled the breasts for 20 minutes first.

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake
My husband says "the consistancy isn't right but it tastes good". He just doesn't want to hurt my feelings. This was the densest cake I have ever made, it was absolutely horrible! Its wetter than banana bread! I should've known when the batter was thick like brownie batter that it would have the consistancy of a cookie. I'll never make this recipe again, there was nothing that could've been done to make it better.
