Low Fat Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
I wasn't a salad eater til I tried this recipe. I LOVE this. I was trying to imitate a local restaurant's recipe and this is VERY close! I now crave salad with this dressing-AND I do weight watchers and as I calculated a 2 Tablespoon serving is 1 pt. I used Dried herbs instead of the fresh and it was still wonderful!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2012
THIS IS the BEST coleslaw recipe I've found. I am VERY VERY picky with recipes. I look until I find the best before I save them. THIS is it! If you like a coleslaw with Mayo based dressing-this is the one to keep! I don't use Miracle Whip so it's not something I generally keep for recipes so I naturally used Real Mayo and it was just perfect, a little sweet but not overly. I get compliments on this Coleslaw always!

Papa's Seasoning Salt

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2012
I don't like many Brands of Seasoned Salt so I was inspired to try this. I can generally look at the spices and see that I will need to adjust to my liking. I cut down on the garlic powder to 2 Tablespoons as I love garlic but my husband throttles back on it. I can always sprinkle additional Garlic later if needed. I also substituted smoked paprika for the Cayenne Pepper as Wildie suggested. I have young grandsons that don't like the extra heat. I also added 1 Tablespoon of ground Thyme. It's one of my favorite spices so I threw it in. Thumbs up to this creation! My husband even commented on how good it was.

Salsa Ninety Nine (Mild)

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
I loved this combination of ingredients. The Cilantro is the key ingredient to making this fresh and authentic tasting Salsa. I prefer a less spicy Salsa and this is perfect! I changed the technique a bit. After I skinned my tomatoes I run through a blender to make the consistency of crushed tomatoes. I then followed the rest as directed. Now I have the perfect taste and consistency. I half the recipe and it makes about 10 pints.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
These Cookies are the best in Oatmeal Cookies. Perfect description of these are moist, chewy, and great with a glass of milk. Not too thin and not too thick. I like my cookies chewy and bendy and these are exactly on target. I took to a function last night and as I picked the container up from the table, several people asked me for my secret ingredient. It was like they were totally waiting to find the owner of the recipe. The secret is not in the ingredients but it's the soaking of raisins and softening of butter. Butter needs to soften naturally while the raisins are soaking. I actually used margarine and it turned out fine. Also, let set on the cookie sheets for a few minutes to set up before removing. Oh, and if you toast the pecans before adding to the recipe, it goes over the top! Awesome recipe!

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
This is an awesome basic stir fry recipe. You can change it up a little depending on the vegetables you have on hand. I used Carrots, Green Pepper and Onion. I did sprinkle on a bit of crushed red pepper for a tad bit of heat. I also added just about a teaspoon or so of brown sugar to sweeten just a little and at the end I put in a swig of Sesame Oil which seems to help all the flavors blend. This is really really good. You should try this one, seriously!

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
Phenomenal! Cookies are moist and spicy. I did change the oven temp to 350 degrees and baked longer, made only 1/2 of the icing and put in a snack bag, cutting out corner of bag and drizzled icing over in a back and forth pattern. Next time I'll make smiley faces on them for my special grandsons! a keeper recipe :) I can't wait to try them out on my family!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
This is a very very good recipe. I wanted a recipe w/no sour cream, soup, or bread. Cottage cheese makes it more healthy. I used less cheese, like 1 cup cheddar and 1 cup swiss with about an additional 1/4 c. cheddar and/ or swiss over top the last 10 minutes of baking.
