- add salt -- try 1/4 tsp or less - use rolled oats, not quick oats - try 3/4 cup toasted walnuts pieces

Spicy Chipotle Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
This is an easy and delicious recipe, something I'm always looking for. We followed others' advice and added additional chipotles — I like at least three per batch. The second time we made the burgers we doubled the recipe and froze some burgers, and what a treat having those available whenever we want them! Thank you so much! This is a life-changing recipe, especially for the summer grilling months!

Raspberry Peach Crumble

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
I found this to be WAY too sweet. Next time I'd use less than half the sugar the recipe calls for. I used five peaches and a cup of blueberries — I followed the advice of other reviewers and added flour, but it wasn't quite enough. I'd use four tablespoons of flour next time, with that amount of fruit. I'd also use wild blueberries so they don't burst and turn everything purply. I think this recipe holds a lot of promise, though! I'd definitely make it again.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
What a wonderful, quick recipe! I followed the wise advice of others and sautéed three chopped cloves of garlic in a bit of olive oil and then blended everything together in the pot with a hand blender to save on dishes. I had 19 oz. cans of beans and they worked just fine — I blended one in and kept the other aside, so half the beans were whole. I used three teaspoons of cumin and added a teaspoon of lime juice — I'd recommend using freshly squeezed lime juice. This was delicious, quick, easy, and I usually have all these ingredients on hand — I love this recipe!! Thanks so much.

Sugar Spiced Almonds

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
i have made this recipe three times now, and i need help!! the first time worked out really well — i doubled the recipe, added salt, and made a small error with the amount of cayenne which didn't end up mattering. the second time i used olive oil, cranked the heat of the oven. the mixture didn't stick to the almonds at all! it remained a dry-ish, crumbly mixture. so the third time i followed the recipe to a TEE — and the same thing happened! what should i do? add more oil? cook it for longer? help!! i loved this recipe the first time round when i bumbled through and did lord knows what and i have no idea how to return to those happy days!!

Baked Vegetables I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
An EXCELLENT recipe! I recently made this for a dinner party and it was a hit. It was easy to prepare ahead of time, and the guests were so impressed. I used baby new potatoes and left them with the skins on which sped up the prep, and I also added whole cloves of garlic. What an easy, delicious, healthy recipe — thank you!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
This is an excellent recipe. My husband and I now use it as our basic bread recipe (minus the herbs) — we like that it's vegan (we like to take a break from meat and dairy when it comes to our bread) and we use organic whole wheat flour and often turn to hemp or flax seed oils instead for the Omega 3. I do love smelling the olive oil as it bakes, though!! We use sea salt and raw sugar insead of white salt and white sugar. I've also modified the recipe to include toasted sesame, poppy, pumpkin, sunflower and flax seeds (1 tbsp of each) — it is delicious. Thanks so much for this versatile recipe!! It's a keeper.

Scott Ure's Clams And Garlic

What a wonderful recipe!! So simple and elegant and delicious. I used about a dozen large clams instead of the 50 small ones, and it worked out perfectly. I will make this again and again!!
